2 billion will die due to sun dimming in a small nuclear war.

I had not heard of the recent alarming rise in military tension between them.

He revealed the chilling aftermath: "It only takes about two weeks for the smoke to cover the entire earth, and it would rise to altitudes between 20 and 50 miles above the surface, at those altitudes it never rains. The smoke would stay there for years."

Painting a grim picture, he added: "This farmer may be in Europe or in the United States, but many thousands of miles from Pakistan and India, is looking at the smoky sky above him, and down at the crops that have died in his field from lack of light and cold temperatures."

I know what could happen, in a few selected areas, a government might create artificial sunlight to grow crops and have it warmed so the plants wont be too cold to grow. It won't help everyone survive. This would have to be on an unimaginable huge scale. And growing crops need pollinators. Think also of all the plants worldwide that will die off. And all the phytoplankton dying off in the seas.

I read the article, but became unbelievable. It said the arsenal of nuclear bombs were the size of one dropped on Hiroshima. Then I thought, didn't we drop two nuclear bombs on Japan, and everything they were saying didn't happen.

I think it means the size of each individual weapon in megatons, not the entire arsenal.
