Understanding Revelation 12 is the key to understanding Bible prophecy. Simply stated, it is a parable which summerizes Bible prophecy. The rest of the prophetic scriptures provide the details which are not included in Revelation 12. The following is the message within Revelation 12.

According to this parable, the woman is going to go to a place "prepared of God," where she will be "fed" and protected from the attacks of Satan for the 1260 days of the GT. Revelation 12 states this twice.

Revelation 12:6And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
14And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

Unable to affect the woman, Satan will then turn his anger against the rest of Christendom which are identified as the remnant of her seed.

Revelation 12: 15And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. 17And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

So according to Revelation 12, Christendom will be divided, during the 1260 days of the GT, into two groups:

1. Those who go to a place "prepared of God" (the woman and the manchild), where they will be "fed" and protected from the attacks of Satan for the 1260 days of the GT.

2. Those who don't go to the place "prepared of God" (the remnant of her seed), and will not be protected from the attacks of Satan for the 1260 days of the GT.

This is the message of Revelation 12 and a rough overview of Bible prophecy. For those interested, determining the location of the place "prepared of God" can be found in the rest of the prophetic scriptures.

Your interpretation on that usage of "remnant" is not correct. Follow the SUBJECT.

Rev 12:15-17
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

The serpent casts a flood out of his 'mouth' to attack the 'woman' (Israel - both believing Israelite and Gentile - God's Church).

16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

The earth helps just a remnant of the woman? No. That verse is including the "woman" (Israel) in toto. ALL of God's people. It is NOT about some going into physical hiding, while a remnant doesn't. IT'S NOT ABOUT GOING INTO PHYSICAL HIDING AT ALL. It's about being protected from what comes out of the serpent's mouth. What comes out of one's mouth anyway?

17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
(KJV)

BECAUSE of what happened in the previous verse, the dragon is wroth (angry). At who? At just a remnant? No, at the "woman", again all that are of the woman, in toto. BUT, the serpent ONLY makes WAR with a REMNANT of the woman's seed. What does that mean?

Well, WHAT'S DIFFERENT about that "remnant" there? Why would the serpent only make war upon those? It's because they will still be keeping the commandments of God and have the Witness of Jesus Christ (The Gospel). That's Christ's Church, those SEALED WITH GOD'S SEALING TO MAKE A STAND FOR CHRIST DURING THE TRIBULATION (Rev.9).

And the rest of the "woman" that serpent doesn't make war upon, what will they be doing? Will they be hiding somehwere physically in the "wilderness" under God's protection? NO. THEY WILL BE DECEIVED. That's why the serpent will have no need to make war with them; he'll already have them eating out of the palm of his hand, even WHILE they think they are protected. That's the five foolish virgins that will be deceived by that serpent.

Is there another Bible witness to this for during the tribulation? Yes.

In Rev.11 we are shown ONLY two candlesticks making a stand along with God's two witnesses. Jesus said the seven candlesticks are the seven Churches. Two of the symbolic seven Churches will make a stand during the tribulation, but what will those other five Churches be doing? They will go into deception, just like our Lord's Messages to those five showed when He told them to repent, or else.

So which of the seven Church patterns should we want to be among during the tribulation? Those two candlesticks (two Churches) that stand with God's two witnesses. THAT's the "remnant" the serpent comes to make war with, i.e., the saints. That's the event our Lord gave in the Books of Daniel and Revelation about the dragon making war upon Christ's saints during the 1260 days.
