When I met Jesus the most profound part of the experience is that I knew him, from before I was born. I didn't understand it. He revealed himself to me and I realized that we knew each other from before I was born. I didn't know anything about christianity at that time but after Jesus' first word I knew that he was the way, the truth and the life. And I realized that something was hidden from me. That we knew each other.

There is a jewish story of the angel of conception, "Lailah". Before you are born, you are taught all of the correct ways to live from God, the Torah. If you live by those statutes you will do well on earth. Then the moment you are born the angel Lailah touches you on that spot just below your nose on your upper lip. This touch from the angel makes you forget everything you are taught and makes that little indention on your lip. The knowledge is there, you merely forget.

I heard this tale/fable the other day and it made sense. I have read other testimonies where the person was astounded that they knew Jesus when they met him and didn't understand it. I think we all know Jesus whether we admit it or not. Ever wonder why people use the name of Jesus to swear in every language? I think there will be no excuse for anyone on the day of Judgement. You either choose God, the peace of God and life or you choose the devil and his temporary pleasures, sin and death.

Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Romans 1:20
For from the creation of the world the invisible things of Him are clearly seen, being understood through the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.

No, He knew us before we were born!!

That does not mean that we knew Him then - we were not even born then!! We did not exist.

He knew us because He knew exact what He was going to make in us.

Now if a person does get to know Him, then they do come to find out that He knew what He was going to make before He makes it. He is like a painter that decides on a painting he is going to make before he paints it. Of course, being God, His thinking far exceeds that of any painter we can think up. So He knew us before we were born, but we didn't know Him because we didn't know anything. We had not been born.

I get a kick out of talking to Him. For example: one day He was talking to me about the book of Genesis and creation. I found it very interesting, but after He talked to me He told me to not really go over what He had just told me with people because the devil would just use it cause arguments. He pointed out that even though He had gone over it with me, I still didn't have a good understanding because I was not there at the time, nor was I Him so as to be able to fully understand.

So, if indeed I had been there back then, and really knew Him back then, how come I can't remember any of it??

It is one thing for Him know exactly what He is going to create, and know the purpose for it, and quite another to think you existed before your existed.

Well I’m just giving you my experience and trying to make sense of it. When God called my name, I knew him and realized that I previously knew him somehow. We knew each other. It was like a reunion from an old friend is what it felt like. And I do not think I am anything special. I think he knows us all. That Jewish tale sure made sense to me.

When my grandson was very little he told us that he remembered being with God. Perhaps he did.

Aww.

My mothers friend and my grandmother both said they remembered talking to Jesus before their life began.

Honestly I don't know how much I understand it and I don't know if it fits my theology, I am not even sure I believe it.

I certainly never had that experience, but I suspect that there are many, many, many, MANY mysteries and cool things that aren't in the Bible that we won't know until the end.

But the old friend feeling I do believe.

"We love because he first loved us."

I believe in their most desperate moments, the hardest moments, sometimes even an atheist will cry out to God.

Do you mean that you did not believe your mother’s friend and grandmother? Or you just don’t believe that theology?

I dont see them lying.

I believe that they believe what happened, and that mayyybe it could have, but I don't know if it is Biblically sound. If I knew it was Biblical then I would be okay with it, so I guess I'm a little indifferent.

Helen Keller was deaf and blind since she was a year old. Her teacher Anne Sullivan taught her to communicate by tracing letters on the palm of her hand. (And God bless teachers who work with Special Needs children). The story goes that Anne then told her about Jesus. Helen responded, “I knew Him; I just didn't know His name.”

Interesting brother, I LOVED the Miracle Worker novel. Loved the characters and became enamored with Helen K. and Anne Sullivan. We read this in 6th grade I believe and it was the first book I had ever read through.

Thank you for sharing that! Did not know although I knew she went on to co found the ACLU...(ruh-roh), wrote several books, that she was also a socialist (ruh-roh) :D but, back then it was all about
need and not greed to her. Extraordinary accomplishments for someone with the disabilities for sure.

I get you trying to explain your understanding.
The Fact is God knew YOU before you were born.
What YOU knew was the Name given you.
If YOU heard God calling your Name, that is your experience.
As a baby, If YOU heard your Mother calling your Name, you probably also responded, (and she knew you before you were born.)

It’s like the wind...it’s there, you can not see it, but you can feel it. You know it...You can see the results of it. (I’m still trying to explain that to my dog..lol)
But also like Ancient men. Knew the Word of God, but didn’t know His Name.

And agree, Helen Keller’s life story is amazing. Two of our most prominent senses we heavily rely on, she did not have, (seeing, hearing,) ...YET...
With a selfless person to lend her a helping hand, and Helen’s own Effort...
WOW, wonders prevailed.
(Someone posted a few days ago, a video, two elderly ladies, how the magical sense of touch awakens and revives the joy of the spirit.)

Did you know...Helen did learn to speak. Granted she struggled and her speech was difficult to understand, but she did not stop. Also amazing was her learning how to read lips By touching her fingers to the mouth of a person speaking! Try that...very hard.

I have mentioned before, of my own profoundly deaf daughter. She does speak clearly, as a hearing person, and is an excellent lip reader. Years ago, she told me, of a new method she was beginning, and continues to this day, practicing, perfecting, which is reading lips from a speakers Profile view. She does pretty good, and wows me.

Thanks for bringing up Helen...a good reminder.

Glory to God,

It’s a mystery. But then we can sort of parallel it with people who have multiple children. We don’t treat them all exactly the same. We notice their differences and for example one may only respond with a soft gentle voice and another you nearly have to raise the roof to get their attention.

I believe in their most desperate moments, the hardest moments, sometimes even an atheist will cry out to God.

I agree.

As a child, my sibs and I would go to the local outdoor pool and, there was a man there who was also blind and deaf. He did the same thing with us...fingers on our lips. It was so unreal, especially as a kid!
How wonderful.
Your daughter seems quite the fighter! God bless her soul!!

Interesting for a young child to experience, with the man at the pool!
My daughter...thank you. She is outgoing, makes friends easily, has a genuine care about others regardless of their station in life. And does have her moments of frustration, speaks directly, no filters (lol), “it’s about me right now, I feeling sorry for myself, you can join in, listen to me whine, or wait an hour and I’ll be over me, me, me.” Kids are awesome.
