If not, who was the first Jew and how, please
Adam and Eve were not Jewish, as descent from Abraham was the basis upon which someone was called “Jewish”.
Moses, in rescuing “the children of Israel” (Jacob’s descendants according to prophesy) from slavery after hundreds of years of ill treatment in Egypt, they came to be known as Jews, by both race and religion, because the two meant the same thing.

The Jewish faith by the time of Jesus had become adulterated and sectarian, with the rival groups of the Pharisees and the Sadducees disagreeing over many of the Pharisee’s traditions, the resurrection of the dead, and the existence of angels. But the two groups unitedly opposed Jesus.

Thank you for your novel question.

Certainly they knew the one and only God, but that is not sufficient (see previous post). There was and is other monotheistic beliefs In our world.

Peace.
