I remember hearing this song when i was a boy. We would laugh at Louis' croaky voice and try to imitate it...
Now that im older it brings a tear to my eye when i hear this... Its such a beautiful song in its simplicity but does it apply anymore... Do we really live in a wonderful world? It doesn't feel so wonderful to me... The world which man has created disgusts me...
Why do i want to be here? For what? Whats so wonderful about this upside down world? I look ahead into the future and i don't see anything wonderful about my life...
I wonder how much more of this world i have to endure and pray that the Lord takes me away and into His kingdom soon...
We sure do live in a wonderful world !

When one has been or seen the worse or dealt with great harshness in ones life and come out from that then one can see or be thankful that one is not under that anymore, on the other hand if one has not endured or one who has had an easy life will be shocked to have to endure harshness.
I have known old Jews who were in the Nazi camps and I thought well well well no hatred is expressed at all and what wonderful people that they were, they endured all that ! and came out such lovely people but then I have seen many a spoilt brat who is a monster of a person and is self inflicted with such pain in themselves. = cursed.
I have a mate who has never worked, only because he never wanted to, because he only wanted to start from the top and give orders down, he could and can not handle others above him, everyone must be under him or their is pain for poor him. his religious opinions must be only a one way street and never challenged or anything, he knows best for all. if I put forward something it will just be shouted down like as if he was Hitler himself going into a rage.
He is the worst case of hopelessness I have seen, he claims that this world is no good ? well I reject that point of view, I say that this world is the greatest thing in the universe by far, it's Awesome ! what a place ! but the only problem is Sin! that is the problem and cause of all the real problems.
If people could only have the power to deal with Sin ? bingo ! what a truly wonderful World !
People are depressed because of their sin nature, it's because their Soul is not connected to God the Father through his only begotten Son Jesus Christ.
There is a song 'I saw the Light' by Johnny Cash that says it all, by seeing the Light this means that you are truly born again and it's in that you are now of the Kingdom of God and then you are sent out into this World to abide in the Lord Jesus. such a one is truly content in yourself and this world is what it is due to Sin but the day will come that this world will be of the Kingdom of God and we are blessed ! the sorrow etc that we may face is not the sorrow of the blighted who are in darkness, I feel so sorry for them that they have no Light in them, by Light I mean the power of Jesus Christ. so who would want to be one like them, such is shocking to even think of such a thing, blighted and cursed. no thanks !
