[Luke 9:1 KJV] "Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases."
[Luke 9:2 KJV] "And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick."
[Luke 9:6 KJV] "And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.".........Jesus sent the disciples to preach the gospel.
[Luke 9:22 KJV] "Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day."............Jesus spoke nothing of being slain, nothing about what his death and resurrection would accomplish, before he sent them to preach the gospel in v6. They could not be preaching the cross if they didn't know anything concerning it. They preached the kingdom Of God, which was the prophetic Davidic covenant in which believing Israel will reign with Christ for a thousand years.
