I imagine that each believer in this forum would have their own qualifiers or interpretations of each of these doctrines. Which doctrine from the list above, or any additional ones you believe (feel free to add), would you say are never debated?

Perhaps you can reflect on your contribution in this forum and think about what topics you often find common ground on.

I often find agreement on no. 4 though I know some like to include works to this teaching which creates arguments and debates.

Personally, I find it very disappointing that Christianity often struggles to find agreement, but it’s important to focus on the teachings we do agree on.

Can we agree on an absolute truth?

Not a debate thread - an agreement thread!

I have come to believe that Jesus' reality ie, his words and actions are the measure by which we interpret the rest of scripture (NT & OT)
It is therefore of paramount importance that we see him as is intended ie, the revelation of the infinite God.

When Jesus is seen independently of any of the doctrines we gather, define or fabricate, we will inevitably be led in an erroneous direction.

How can we test whether our understanding of Scripture aligns with who Jesus really is, rather than with doctrines we’ve inherited, gathered, or constructed?

My initial thought in response to the original post is that your understanding of "the revelation of the infinite God" might differ from mine.

Let me give a long-standing example that’s often surfaced in this forum: you say Jesus is God, and I say He is the Son of God. The debate goes back and forth endlessly, often leading to frustration, emotional reactions, and, unfortunately, division.

The purpose of the original post is to explore whether there’s any teaching or doctrine that all Christians genuinely agree on. To be honest, I’ve struggled to find even one, hence why I raised the question in the first place.

Just to be clear, I agree with your post and the point you’re making, I just don’t see how it’s not something we can all agree on.

Just to clarify, are you saying that these are generally not debated and are accepted by all Christians?

What is perhaps even more important during these times, is that much of what was taught by "false teachers" within the church (2 Peter 2:1), is still being taught and is rarely ever debated.

Be good to have a list.

Yeah, sorry, didn't want to turn the list into something other than what you stated as generally agreeable.

But looking at the list you gave, here are some that are generally agreed upon, but have come about from merely by speculative interpretation, not otherwise biblical--which is perhaps rightfully another list than what you had in mind:

A list of things falsely taught, but generally agreed upon as doctrine
10. The Second Coming of Christ (thought to be in the flesh thousands of years later, rather than "soon").
20. The Role of Women in Ministry (This is one of the most abused and misunderstood passages, while God has called men and women alike: "Bride").
21. The Gifts of the Spirit (Most consider the gifts of the Spirit as given equally).
29. The Nature of Christ’s Return (Most believe the "like manner" of His return to be "like flesh", rather than "the glory of God" whom is spirit).
30. The Role of Israel in Prophecy (Most believe "It is finished"--the reason Jesus send He came--is not true, and that He is not finished with the house of Israel like He said).
34. The Sabbath (Most consider the Sabbath a weekly day of rest for people, rather than a day we can enter into His rest).
