What is God's Kingdom?

The Kingdom of God is a heavenly government. It will replace all other governments and will cause God’s will to be done in heaven and on earth. The news about God’s Kingdom is good. Soon God’s Kingdom will satisfy man’s need for good government. It will unite everyone living on earth. Daniel 2:44; Matthew 6:9, 10; 24:14.

A kingdom must have a king. Jehovah appointed his Son, Jesus Christ, to be King of His Kingdom. Revelation 11:15.

A kingdom must have a king. Jehovah appointed his Son, Jesus Christ, to be King of His Kingdom. Revelation 11:15.

Which brings up a very interesting point. In a kingdom, there is always a King. There has to be. The son of the King is the Prince.

Why do you suppose God Almighty appointed His Son, Jesus, to be King and NOT Prince of His Kingdom?

A prince doesn't become king until the king dies, right?

Sooo, ... if we KNOW that God The Father CAN'T die, then why wouldn't He have appointed Jesus to be Prince of the kingdom?

Hmmm .... head scratcher.

It's almost as if ... Jesus is ... taking His place as the Supreme? The Father???!!

I was going to say that the kingdom of God is the peace of mind we get when we walk with the Lord and do things his way.

It's both tragic and ironic that the Watchtower Society's rank and file
missionaries go worldwide advertising a kingdom that they themselves will
never be allowed to enter. Here's why.

At John 3:3-12, Christ discusses what he labels "earthly things".

The primary earthly thing discussed was the kingdom of God. The other
earthly thing discussed was a Spirit-birth requirement to enter it. In other
words: God's kingdom on earth, and a Spirit birth, are joined at the hip.

The overwhelming majority of JWs coming to our doors aren't Spirit-born
now, nor do they ever expect to be-- not in this life, nor in the next --yet
they sincerely believe they have a shot at admission to God's kingdom on
earth. However, seeing as how the Spirit-birth requirement is a must rather
than an option; they will not succeed.

I understand what you are saying Gen, you are comparing it to the way the world would run a Kingdom. And in fact God's Kingdom is very much like a worldly Government, as well. It has a King, Jesus. It has a cabinet, the 144k Kings and priests that are his co-rulers. It has citizens as well.

Keep in mind from the very beginning Jesus was called the Word, in other words God's spokesman. He is the perfect King as he has lived as a human, knowing full well human frailties and how best to deal with them. Virtually from the time we have been a covenanted people of God we have had a King sitting on Jehovah's throne.

Most likely the biggest reason Jehovah delegates that responsibility is because man cannot deal directly with God personally or they will die. I think we can agree that would be a definite deterrent for one to approach Him.

I have seen others post this recently and hadn't had the chance to point out that Moses DID deal with God directly on Mt. Sinai when he was given the Stone Tablets with the 10 Commandments written on them by the finger of God in Exodus 34:29-35.

His face was glowing when he came down from the mountain and it actually scared some of the people to the point he had to wear a veil.

But I do get your point. Jesus is our go-between, our Priest who has suffered all our various temptations, etc., our advocate with the Almighty.
