setfree, The Greek term translated Grace, means Undeserved Kindness. To gain salvation we must have the Grace of God. This means being in a saved condition, Promerit. There is much more that goes with this term. We must be Declared Righteous by Undeserved Kindness, Rom 3:23,24,5:1,2, Gal 2:16. Since we are sinners we cannot BE righteous, we must be Declared Righteous on the basis of Jesus' Ransom Sacrifice. There is no such thing as Justification by Works, there is a Justification by Faith, apart from the works of the Law Covenant, Rom 3:27-30. By God not charging our sins against us, but charging them to Jesus, who gave his life for us, we can be Declared Righteous, and have the hope of everlasting life, John 3:16, Matt 20:28, Eph 1:6,7.
