What Is The Best Thing That Happened To You Today?

My 5 friends and I were down at our local beach celebrating our last bible study gathering until next year. We sat at a long bar-type table that faced the main path leading to the beach. Today, I decided to make an effort to be friendly to people as they walked by to see how many people I could chat with. I'm not really sociable but I can put that hat on when needed. It turned out to be so much fun! I talked to just about everyone who passed. Some were taking their dogs for a walk, others were just going down for a swim, and then there was a bunch of christian guys out for the day thinking about fishing and their church.

We met so many people who passed by and exchanged a few phone numbers as well. It was kinda awesome!

@Nancy, it really does make a difference when your bible group are from various parts of the world. Only two of us are New Zealanders. The rest are from England, South Africa, South America and Zimbabwe.

Weird kind of random information from FB: NZ has been voted the sexiest accent in the world for 2025. Not sure why but there you have it. I think they won that last year as well.

@Angelina, I love that I got to know many on here and have benefitted greatly through their posts. I have come to really care for so many. Their blessings, their tragedy's too. This is a wonderful platform...for the most part and I think you know what I mean...?
Hmm, sexiest accent? I do love the accent, as well as the UK's accents...German, not so much lol. Never looked at them as being "sexy" lol...I don't do sex in any way shape or form and have not in decades...never had much desire (Thank you Lord)

This includes: Doctrinal discernment: weighing proposed ideas against the whole counsel of Scripture
Exegetical inquiry, asking what specific texts do and do not say
Berean-style examination (Acts 17:11), examining the Scriptures to see whether a claim holds
Systematic clarification, carefully separating categories Scripture keeps distinct

I am not trying to win a debate or anything like that. I am not a theologian and my friend is a bible scholar. I am just testing to see if some of my theological beliefs can survive being measured up against scripture. I hope he can handle my insistent lateral thinking processes. I'm enjoying it so far. No migraines yet, lol!

Yay! I don't have a proper tree up because we are all going to another family member's place for Christmas, but I did decorate and added a small tree that has lights somehow integrated in it so it lights up. Now I promised the Lord not to come back till after Christmas unless I'm doing mod duties or speaking with my friend but I couldn't bypass this post. @Kayla McCanny
