Hi to all , and many believers say that there is ONLY one Gospel , and is that what you believe ???

Let the bible say what it means .

In Gal 2:7 we have the following words written through Paul by the Holy Spirit .

#1 , But , countrariwise , when they saw ( that is James in verse 1 ) that the GOSPEL of the Uncircumcision was committed unto me , in other words to the Gentile and Gal 2:2 bears and proves who Paul was preaching to , the Gentiles and that who the Uncircumsied were , GENTILES , check Eph 2:11 .

So this just one of the Gospels that were preached .

#2 , The second Gospel , is also found in Gal 2:7 , and it is called the Circumcision Gospel that Peter preached , and it is to Jews ONLY .

#3 , And in Gal 3:8 we see another Gospel that was preached to Abram which was told to Abram in Gen 12:1 - 3 which now 3 GOSPELS .

#4 , Then in Rev 14:6 - 7 , we another Gospel called the " everlasting Gospel " and in verse 7 called a Gospel of Judgment .

So , we see that there is more than one gospel , but at least 4 gospel for different ages , dan p

    Hello Dan p.

What is the gospel you ask.

First of all, we need to take the whole Word of Yahweh on any subject.

The sum of Thy word is truth, And every one of Thy righteous ordinances is everlasting.” Psalms 119:160

If you take a subject to speak, teach or write on, we need to take the “sum of His Word.”

I am speaking of the gospel of Christ, the gospel that leads to salvation. Notice in 1 Cor 15 what the apostle Paul spoke of here. Paul here in 1 Cor 15 is preaching almost the same sermon that Peter preached on Pentecost, Acts 2:29ff. They both, Paul and Peter, preached the “death, burial and resurrection” of the Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus). This IS THE GOSPEL, the GOOD NEWS. He died, He was buried, and He was resurrected, THIS IS OUR HOPE!

1 Cor 15:1 Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand,

2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.

3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

5 and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.

    6 After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep;

    7 then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles;

8 and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also.

Notice Paul spoke of the Gospel, the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord. That is the gospel in a nutshell. That’s how simple it is!!

The apostle Paul was speaking to some Roman Christians in Romans 6:3ff. He told them HOW, and WHEN they were saved.

Let’s read what the apostle Paul says: (Please read Romans 6 for yourself)

Rom 6:3-7. “…do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, that our body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin.”

Notice what Paul is telling these Christians. He said, “when you were baptized, you died His death with Him. When you were buried (in the water) you were BURIED WITH HIM! When you were raised (from the water) YOU WERE RAISED WITH HIM!

Through faith, when a person repents, confesses Christ as their savior, and then are BURIED WITH HIM (immersion, baptism) they are raise TO WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE. (v.4)

You EMULATE what He did on the cross in baptism. The Hebrew Bible does not use the transliterated word “baptism”, but “immersion.” (Only if the translators would have translated the Greek word “baptisma” into “immersion” instead of baptism, they would have prevented a lot of false doctrine.)

Romans 6 is speaking of salvation. Paul shows these Roman Christians how and when they were saved. He tells them in this same chapter, a few verses later, verse 8. “.. if you died WITH CHRIST (baptism) then you will reign (live) WITH Him.”

This is speaking of THIS AGE!! Now. Not "Mañana"!!! (sorry, Texans have to use Spanish once in a while)

Now, look at Romans 6:17, 18, and remember, still in CONTEXT, the apostle Paul is telling the Roman Christians “how and when” they were saved. He then says,

“But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed,

and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness” (Rom 6:17,18)

That “form” of teaching is the “gospel,” that is, the death, burial and resurrection of the Messiah, Yeshua. Also, I want you to take a concordance and look up the Greek word for “form”… This will “nail it down” to a “mold of teaching.” You know what a “mold or pattern” is?? If you take a woman’s dress pattern and make dresses from it, then all the dresses made from that “pattern” will look EXACTLY like the pattern. (If I preach the gospel in San Antonio, Texas and then I go to where I was stationed in Africa and preach the gospel THERE, the same result happens, “a Christian” is “BORN.”)

This Greek word for “form” is the Greek word “tupos.” Tupos is used in Hebrew 8:5 when Moses is told by God to build the tabernacle “according to a pattern.” This is the idea of the Greek word “tupos.” “PATTERN OR MOLD.”

Here in Romans 6:17,18, using Charles’ words, my words, Paul is telling them, “hey, don’t you know when you were baptized, you died WITH HIM and were RESURRECTED WITH HIM?? Then in the following verses (verse 8) Paul tells them “…if you died WITH HIM then you will LIVE WITH HIM.”

Also, (verses 17,18) don’t you know when you obeyed the faith (gospel), you obeyed a “form of teaching” that sets all sinners FREE FROM THEIR SINS AND MAKES THEM SERVANTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS!!

((Look in Acts 6:7 and see where many Jewish priests (Levites) were “obedient to the faith.” That is “they obeyed the gospel!”)) (death, burial and baptism)

If you want assurance that you have salvation, then you MUST obey the faith, that is, the gospel. You must die WITH HIM, BE BURIED WITH HIM, AND RESURRECTED WITH HIM. This is ALL done from a sincere heart, that is baptism (immersion) is done after a sorrowful sinner approaches Gop (whom he has sinned against) and confesses to the Father he has sinned against Him, then confesses His Son, Yeshua (Jesus) as His Lord and Savior, and then is buried WITH HIM (BAPTISM).

Remember, what the apostle Paul preached in one synagogue or church, he preached the same thing in all the assemblies. “…For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and he will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, just as I teach everywhere in every church.” (1 Cor 4:17)

This is “pattern” preaching that Paul was doing. He preached “the mold, the pattern.”

    LOVE,

    Charles

Hi Charles and Acts 2:29 is NOT the same as 1 Cor 15:1 - 4 and why not rebut Acts 21:21 first .because Peter is accusing the House of Israel , v 36 , of killing their Messiah , verse 36 and the Context is Jewish ,

    Hey Dan:

I’m not sure of what you are saying or not saying??? Due to the fact I am not sure what you meant in your statement I printed out each scripture you quoted, before and after to pick up the “context.”

First you said, “…Acts 2:29 & 1 Cor 15:1-4 are NOT the same.”

Take a look at these two quotes below and you will see that BOTH are speaking of the resurrection of Messiah. In Acts 2:29ff God says here that king David was also a prophet and being a prophet he was given the future events (from God) and said God swore an oath to him (David) to seat one of his seed (Jesus) upon his (David’s) throne. This is what happened at the resurrection!! Christ is sitting on the Davidic Throne NOW and will reign until all enemies are put under his feet. When all enemies are placed under His Feet He will return the Kingdom back to the Father. (1Cor 15:25ff)

In 1 Cor 15 (resurrection chapter) we find the apostle Paul speaking to the Romans Christians and telling them to “stand fast” (hold on) to the gospel which he preached. He then defines the gospel as the “death, burial and resurrections of Messiah.”

Acts 2:29 "Brethren, I may confidently say to you regarding the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

30 "And so, because he was a prophet, and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one of his descendants upon his throne,

31 he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that He was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did His flesh suffer decay.

32 "This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses.

NAS 1 Corinthians 15:1 Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand,

2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast 1the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.

3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

Next, in the same statement, you say, “why not rebut Acts 21:21 first .because Peter is accusing the House of Israel , v 36 , of killing their Messiah , verse 36 and the Context is Jewish”

Dan, sorry, this statement is confusing to me. How do you want me to “rebut” Acts 21:21

I am thinking you meant to say Acts 2:21?? And not Acts 21:21?? I think this because you mentioned verse 36 which mentions crucifying the Messiah.

Anyway, I will quote the context of Acts 2:21 in hopes my assumption is correct.

Acts 2: 19 'And I will grant wonders in the sky above, And signs on the earth beneath, Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke.

20 'The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the great and glorious day of the Lord shall come.

21 'And it shall be, that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.'

22 "Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know--

23 this Man, delivered up by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death.

24 "And God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.

The following verses (verses 29-32) I’ve already mentioned and wrote on above speaks of sitting up Yeshua on the Davidic throne. (Which God did on Christ's resurrection.)

Acts 2:19,20 & 21 are typical prophetic Hebrew idioms where the prophet uses heavenly elements to describe certain events. For example, you see in Matthew 24 where the sun, moon and stars are mentioned.

Many years (around 1970) ago, I wrote some “notes” on the sun, moon and stars. I will “paste” what I wrote below this writing. (I call it "some tools to dig with")

Before I do, I hope I have dealt with what you wanted?? Let me know. May the Lord be with you and keep studying His Word. Be Holy and may His Spirit be with you.

    Some tools to dig with.

Sun, Moon, Stars and Clouds in prophecy:

    a. We first see evidence of the definition of the sun, moon and

stars in Genesis 37 where we run across Joseph. At this time,

Joseph is a young man and is having dreams etc. He dreams

a dream and tells it to his father:

    Genesis 37:9-10

9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. 10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? KJV

Notice: Joseph dreams that the SUN, MOON AND STARS will

    bow down to him.

-his father knows immediately knows what these elements represent and rebukes Joseph.

-the sun, moon and stars represented the household of Jacob.

-the sun represented Jacob the father, the moon his mother

and the stars represented his brothers.

    b. Later, this prophecy was fulfilled when Joseph was in Egypt and

in a high government position and his family did bow to him.

    c. The sun represented the head of the house, a leader of the house.

    d. Later, in scripture you may run across the sun, moon and stars mentioned. Take a good look at the context. If the context is speaking of a prophecy, then most likely the sun, moon and stars represent the government of that country.

For example: In Matthew 24:29 you see the sun, moon, stars and powers of the heavens spoken of. This is referring to the Jewish leaders at this time. It is speaking of the Sanhedrin, priests etc. Jesus is telling them that their nation (Jewish economy) is fixing to end

    .

This was fulfilled when the Lord “came on clouds” (Roman army) and destroyed the temple and city. Messiah told them when they see (Matt 24:15) the abomination of desolation (destruction) spoken of by the prophet Daniel then know the time is near. The synoptic parallel to Matt 24:15 is Luke 21:20 [sup]20 [/sup]And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

So, Jesus told them when you see the Roman army (Gentile army, an abomination) surrounding Jerusalem, then you will know the desolation (destruction) is near.

    Isaiah 13:10

10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. KJV

The Lord is speaking here in Isa 13:10 of the destruction of Babylon. He used an

army (clouds) to do His will.

Isaiah 19:1 [sup]KJV [/sup]Isaiah 19:1 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.

Here again, In Isaiah 19ff the Lord is speaking of “riding a swift cloud” to destroy Egypt. An army fulfilled this. The point is, that the Lord, in prophetic speech, speaks of “coming in the clouds, or riding a swift cloud” when really He is speaking of using a nations army to destroy another nation.

    Matthew 24:29

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: KJV

Here, in Matthew you see a reference to the fall of the Jewish nation. The sun,

moon and stars are made up of the Sanhedrin, that is, the high priests, scribes

(some Pharisees such as Nicodemus of John 3) and elders. These made up the

rulership of Israel at this time.

It has been referred to as the “last days, the last hour” in the New Testament and

happened in 70 A.D. when Titus, the Roman general, came and destroyed the

temple and Jerusalem. (“Last days of that age, the O.T. age)

    Matthew 26:64

64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. KJV

    a. In Isaiah, it is evident that the prophet is talking about the conquest of

Egypt by an army that is doing the will of God.

    b. In Matthew 26 Christ promised the high priest, Caiaphas, that he would

see him coming on the clouds. He saw this in the fulfillment of the

Roman army, doing the will of God, through Titus in 70 A.D.,

    Luke 21:20

20 ‘‘When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that

    its desolation is near. NIV

Luke records this period of time, and points to 70 AD. When Titus destroyed the

    Temple and Jerusalem.

Like in Noah’s time, a new age was started. Jesus brought in a new age in which those that have been “born from above” (born again) have been added to the bride of Christ, the

Assembly (The church, Acts 2:47). Their names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and they enter into that great city as described by the Hebrew writer:

Hebrews 12:22-23 [sup]22[/sup] But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, [sup]23[/sup] To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

This city (Universal Church in heaven) is made up of all the righteous from the time of Adam until the present time – and is growing daily. PRAISE HIS NAME!!

    Acts 2:20

20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: KJV

These statements means “the end of the world” to a premillennialist, but this is not what the bible is teaching. It is not the end of time (world), but the time of the end of the age. (Old Covenant age, Fleshly Jewish rule). He made a New Covenant with the House of Israel, the remnant, that is, the believing Jews of that day.

    Mountains = Kingdoms

Jeremiah 51:24-26 [sup]24[/sup] And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith Jehovah. [sup]25[/sup] Behold, I am against thee, O destroying mountain, saith Jehovah, which destroyest all the earth; and I will stretch out my hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain. [sup]26[/sup] And they shall not take of thee a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but thou shalt be desolate for ever, saith Jehovah.

Here in Jeremiah 51 the defeat and destruction of Babylon is pictured by making a destroying mountain (apparently a volcano) into a “burnt-out” mountain. The term “MOUNTAIN” is used over and over again to stand for a kingdom, as for example, in Amos 4:1 and Isaiah 2:2.
