I like bishop T.D Jakes.. very powerful and prophetic

I havn't heard of him, where is his diocese.

i've never been keen on the televangelists. They all seem to have too much money and strut around like they are celebredites with their limos and private jets and big houses with swimming pools, so no I don't like them. They just don't seem very humble. My least favourite is Jimmy Swaggart, the dirty old lech.

Google his name

A quote from one of his video products.
Join Bishop T.D. Jakes LIVE from Houston, Texas at the legendary Lakewood Church. With a first of its kind invitation from Pastor Joel Osteen, Bishop Jakes delivered three exhilarating messages that electrified the crowd of thousands, ministering soul-stirring, in season messages that will impact your life forever.

Im afraid that if I drove up with my piece of junk car to the legendary Lakewood church they would ask me to leave.
No beemer Evidence God is not in my life, :D

Bishop T. D. Jakes - Biography
I don't think it contains one reference to the bible or Jesus. Its very long but heres the first several paragraphs.
http://www.thepotter...-Biography.aspx

"Even in a profession peopled with multitaskers, Bishop Thomas (T.D.) Jakes stands out."
Time magazine, February 2005
Cover Article, "The 25 Most Influential Evangelicals in America"
Ministerial and business visionary, entrepreneurial trailblazer, altruistic philanthropist, and spiritual shepherd to millions around the globe, Bishop Thomas Dexter (T.D.) Jakes, Sr., founded Greater Emmanuel Temple of Faith, his first pastorate, in 1979. It was a small beginning, in a small West Virginia church, pastoring a small, 10-member congregation.

More than 25 years later, Bishop Jakes pastors what Christianity Today calls "one of America’s fastest growing mega-churches." The Potter’s House, a multiracial, nondenominational church with 50-plus active outreach ministries, has dominated church growth records since its inception in 1996. In its 10-year existence, the church has grown from the 50 families that relocated with the Jakes family from West Virginia to Dallas to more than 30,000 members. Rivaling many corporations, the ministry employs nearly 400 staff members, including full-time finance, human resources, information technology, materials distribution, public relations, publications and television production departments. The Potter’s House is fiscally sound, retiring within four years the financial debt incurred by the 191,000 square feet, $45 million sanctuary construction.

Bishop Jakes was born in South Charleston, WV, on June 9, 1957. His parents, businessman and entrepreneur Ernest Sr. and educator Odith, were charitable benefactors in their community. It is to them that their son credits as the source of his own integrity, discipline, and self-reliance. In 2006, he celebrated 30 years in ministry.

Bottom line If he ministers to you thats all that matters.

To be far Disciple, I started in Cavalry Chapel in 79 Chuck Smith founder, Greg Laurie was one of the first to start a church under Chucks leadership in Riverside CA.
So that was where I found myself after traveling across the country. They expand the church by watching for members that they believe the Lord calls with an anointing to teach then help in providing them with the paperwork ect to begin a church. They don't use TBN to minister but they do support CSN Christian Satellite Network, http://www.csnradio.com/
Its a radio broadcast all over the world now I believe. I spent several years there, but I credit Chuck and Greg threw Christ as the ones that the Lord began teaching me a greater understanding of Jesus threw the bible. I still listen to CSN but don't agree with their interpretation of end times, never did, but they teach sound doctrine.

Edit;
If God could use a donkey to speak to Balaam who am I to say what manner of men he chooses.
You know the verse Matthew 7:22-23
Like I said who am I to say. Phil 2:12

Far to commercialised if you ask me.

Do you ge a better sermon with these people than you could from your own priest or pastor. Are they life changing or are they just cashing in on pious Christians?

Is it any wonder that the message of God is hard for people understand when you have to follow witnesses like these.

Charles Spurgen audio mp3 sermons http://www.spurgeongems.org/audio.htm

Yes, a good website. I have several of Spurgeon's books, including "The New Park Street Pulpit " which will keep me occupied for quite some time. Just to inform anyone who may be interested, I have the Zondervan 6 volume edition of these works and the print is extremely small, so you may want to do a little research before you buy.

"It's only 30 bucks"
Sorry but I've never gotten on the "making money sharing the gospel" bandwagon. The truth of God's word shouldn't cost more than it costs to produce the materials.
Voddie Baucham is a favorite of mine however, he does the whole "copyright property" nonsense and I just strongly disagree with it.

John Piper: http://www.desiringgod.org/
Greatest theologian of our day in my opinion. ALL of his stuff, and I mean ALL of it, is available online for 100% free. Sermons, books, topics, anything. You can download any of his books for free. And if you want an actual book, they have a "pay what you can pay" policy. This is how it needs to be done.
John Piper has also been around forever, too, so everything from like the 70s is all online, in transcript, audio, video form... Amazing catalog of information there.

Matt Chandler: http://www.thevillagechurch.net/
All of their podcasts are for free, the transcripts and stuff are kindof hit and miss.
But Chandler is my favorite. He's smart, witty, funny... Keeps you interested in the topic and relates it amazingly well.
