What Really Up with Pace Replacement

Ok so Peter Pace is out as Joint Chief of Staff the reason he would be pounded by congress with questions of past Iraqi war policies and past comments.Alright nothing he hasn't experienced before and the congress likes him trusts his opinions.So I ask why is he really out when he says he did not want to leave.Call my crazy here but if you have read or heard anything about the strategy if the US attacked Iran's nuclear facilities They have said it would be a Navel led operation in conjunction with the Air-force Thus we have nine ships in the Persian Gulf. So suddenly the Marine(Gen Pace)is out and the new nominee Adm.Mullen a Navy guy.Why would a Navy guy be the best choice to lead a war in the desert of Iraq with few to no navy personnel there????
