I requested the day off for Pentecost and one of my (unbelieving) co-workers asked me a question that I actually thought was a good question, but that I didn't really have the answer to - except marketers use holidays to sell stuff.
It was basically "Why is Pentecost not as popular and celebrated like Easter?"
Part of me wanted to say there is no eggs or candy involved, but I just explained it's in the book of Acts and it would be difficult to understand without reading it but he could look it up.
But this is true in churches, too, so why is that? In my mind, when you stop at Easter, you're missing a huge part of the story.
