I am not sure how anyone could ignore what his administration has accomplished for the good. But I know many Republicans who are blind to the accomplishments of the Clinton and Obama administrations as well.
I guess thats a good thing about being an Independent. I do not trust either party and while I would never vote Democrat I do not come anywhere near pledging my voice to the GOP.
I have switched parties over time. I was a Republican until Trump won the nomination. I'm a Libertarian now. Whatever good Trump has done pales in comparison to the harm. Our national debt is now larger than GDP. We're on the path to becoming a banana republic. Spending was already ridiculously high before the pandemic with records being broken. With the additional funds being spent, we're in really serious trouble now.
Our international alliances have broken down. China and Russia have stepped in to fill the void.
I tend to favor small government myself, but I also favor accountable and transparent government. When I see how many times Trump has tried to get around Congress to get what he wants -- and being slapped down by the courts -- I can't see him as standing for law and order. I see him trying to make government dysfunctional. He's undermining the government and the trust of the American people in government. Congress is supposed to decide how money gets spent -- but Trump tries to get around that. So much time is wasted by cases going to court -- with Trump usually losing.
His tactic is pretty obvious: Undermine others and then grab power. He's attacked the press, the FBI, Congress (including Senators of his own party), and judges. He doesn't bother to nominate people to some jobs -- he likes having people who haven't been confirmed by the Senate. He just lost a court case over one of them too.
