The young man level is loaded for bear. You have in readiness of mind to rebuke everyone, and everything at a whim. If it don't line up - we say. We judge everyone and everything, based on what I believe about what is written..what I understand!
Not to slow to speak, but with the sword of the Lord..you begin your journey into cleaning house. Every house but your own!
The latter days will have those that will not respect authority.
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. - 2 Timothy 3:1-5.
How does that work in believers? They do not respect authority in the plan and purpose of God. Being under authority, and being under some type of covering is two different things. Being under a covering is a man made idea to work the things of God. Being under authority is; being placed in the established authority of God. Covering came from a movement, I believe has moved on, to it's credit. Covering does nothing and has no backing in scripture!
In the established authority of God, there is no rebuke..but what comes from the revealed scriptures. The authority of God says; do not rebuke an elder. Why is that young man? The elder is slow to speak. Their mind is not in rebuke, they watch you! Just because you can out sword fight them, means nothing. You will not know what they know, when you are in the young man stage. You will feel you know alot, more than just a simple elder. An elder in skilled in the things of God, and knows what is written, and how to handle the things of God. Think about how your parents, or grandparents, and how they handled you, or some authority figure. Like they didn't know alot..but as you have gotten older, now you see! The simple things, turned out to be great truths. They had learned because they have been at this life longer, and seen and witnessed what they know. Revealed knowledge will not showcase itself. The five fold ministry works in and through them for life. The life that pertains to godliness! We do ourselves a 'good' when we listen.
But in readiness of mind to; revenge all disobedience! every high thing that exalts itself, against the knowledge of God.
5 casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6 and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. - 2 Corinthians 10:5-6.
