Also of interest was the political climate in Minneapolis. Total 'woke' mayor and governor who pushed a willing media toward the narrative that they then spoonfed stooges like Gabe here, who filled his face to overflowing. The mayor gave the order to give up the 3rd precinct to the mob-- let it burn. Ordered the police officers to abandon it. Woke Judge, Woke Chief of Police.... the whole thing was a sham and a travesty.
When it came time for the trial, potential jurors were explicitly asked-- "What is your opinion of Black Lives Matter?" -Anyone who expressed a negative view of that group was dismissed from the pool-- obviously biased, was the reasoning, so that the entire jury was only comprised of folks with a favorable opinion of Black Lives Matter, as a white cop was tried for the unfortunate death of a black convict.
That trial should never have been held in Minneapolis-- Chauvin had no chance of a fair trial, though our constitution guarantees the right to a fair trial by an impartial jury. (Sixth Amendment).
That certainly didn't happen.
Reasons for changes of venue include pretrial publicity, bias, political atmosphere, and any other circumstance that the parties believe would prevent them from obtaining a fair trial in the county in which the case was originally filed.
