Do you understand Righteousness and Obedience well enough to sort this out?
I am going to ask a Trick Question:
1 Samuel 22:6-23
My summary: David had taken refuge with the priests at Nob. Doeg the Edomite tells King Saul. The King goes to Nob and orders the execution of the priests there. None of King Saul's men would obey him and kill the priests. Except for Doeg, who kills all of the priests except Abiathar (who escapes).
Who did God's will, Saul's men who refused to kill the priests or Doeg, who did kill them?
1 Samuel 3:11-14
11 Then the Lord said to Samuel: “Behold, I will do something in Israel at which both ears of everyone who hears it will tingle. 12 In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning...
Through faith only demonstrates His righteousness.
25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,
26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Note: what time?? The present because Jesus has NOW paid for all those sins.
17 Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is...
I believe: the Lord Jesus' coming again "in The Last Day", "in The Day of the LORD", "the day The Seventh Day Sabbath of the LORD GOD", "on The Lord's Day", "Sabbath-rest-day for the People of God", "That Day BONE Day" at the Resurrection, into eternal life or eternal damnation.
Believe others: Oh no! That is time-setting!
I answer them: And what if That Great Day of Sabbath were yesterday eight and quarter hours ago, 22/09 in the year of our Lord 2018? Because, according to WHAT I believe shall be the day that Christ shall come again, it could just as well have been yesterday; but now it had not been so that I keep on praying, "Come Lord Jesus! Quickly come!" and still believe He will return "on the Sabbath", "This Jesus the...
Id like to start a discussion on this, but am unsure how to, so will just type. On one hand I think that it is good to discuss spirits and demons to realize as Christians, we have no reason to fear them. We can rebuke them in Jesus name. But on the other hand, sometimes it seems like some people have a lot more demonic influence then others. And spirits like depression/anxiety etc...a lot have these. And I do believe they are like spirits. What is y'alls take on this. I know @Heart2Soul shared something really good about it. Can I share that Patty?
But when I was younger I have gone through "depossessions" not to be confused by exorcisms. I really don't know how to describe that or want to talk about it again. Does...
Here is a subject that religion has obscured to the point of destroying what is good in order to support that which is evil.
I would have put this subject in the unorthodox doctrines section....but how could I do that to this very basic topic?
I want to begin with a story of my own making that illustrates my point.
A certain king was dying and sent for his son who was to become king in his place. That son had never lived in the kingdom he was to inherit as he was raised elsewhere. But upon arrival he set out to find out what kind of subjects he was to govern. So he dressed in a casual manner and set out on his horse.
Along the way the horse slipped and the young prince fell into a ditch, breaking his leg.
When he awoke he found...
The title is the post. In my brief life I've never seen so much hate, so many lies, so much adversity from those than say the are Christian and also democrats. I try to stay away from most of what is called news, the daily body count, etc. But I do want to know the gist of governmental going on like the Kavanaugh confirmation. I see that the accuser of Kavanaugh is finding the kitchen a lot hotter place to cook than she thought. She has agreed to testify IF on her terms. Democrats vow to impeach him if confirmed. What a job to have!
My belief is than multitudes that believe themselves to be Christians are not. Church attendance deceives many to believe they are Christians but they still stand up for abortion and other anti biblical...
Jesus had just healed a boy born blind, and the Pharisees wouldn’t hear it. John 9:26-29 Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples? Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples. We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow , we know not from whence he is.
In verse 39 Jesus says: “For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.”
Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found...
"...Memories are therefore very malleable, they can be distorted and changed easily, as many studies in our lab have shown. For example, we have found that suggestions and imagination can create memories that are very detailed and emotional while still completely false. Jean Piaget, a famous developmental psychologist, remembered all his life in vivid detail an event in which he was abducted with his nanny – she often told him about it. After many years, she confessed to having made the story up. At that point, Piaget stopped believing in the...
I feel this is a much debated subject.
People like to read more into Scripture than what is there.
I've read of pastors who believe Jesus gives everyone a 2nd chance after death because he doesn't want anyone to go to hell.
some believe that when Jesus went to hell, he preached the Gospel and gave everyone from old a 2nd chance.
But the Bible doesn't say that.
Or does it.
Anyone have anything to say about this?
