"For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame" (Hebrews 6:4-6).
I want to give my take on this Scripture to make a bit clearer exactly who this Scripture refers to.
Right at the outset I want to say that it does not refer to genuine believers who fall into sin while yet retaining their general faith in Christ. I know they need to repent, and the opportunity for repentance is always open to them without...
1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sin, then God is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness".
This Scripture implies that we confess our sins to God, and it is not necessary to confess them to anyone else, because no one is faithful and just like God to totally forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
The problem with confessing sin to others, is that the confession can be used the wrong way, and published in areas where we would not wish them to be. I was in a church where people went to the elders for counselling, and the elders went home and told their wives, and the problems came out publicly in the church prayer meetings. This was a total breach of...
For those members that wanted to join Rapture Ready forums but were not allowed to talk about the various issues of the rapture per the rules of the forum, because they believe every believer will be rapture, you can join this forum to freely discuss them, as this thread is about the question of being rapture ready for the partial rapture of the church through the scriptures.
Now we all understand that each believer is at a various growth state in our walk with Him, meaning some are not as mature as others while some are even still babes in Christ, not rooted in the milk of His words. Some have put their reconciled relationship with God on a shelf and want to live life to the fullest while others are led astray by false teachings...
Ephesians 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
Does this verse say that Christ, after his resurrection, led the old testament saints into heaven?
The first thing to examine is, what does it mean to lead captivity captive.
Judges 5:12 Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam.
This song commemorates Israel being freed, in Judges 4:14, from the captivity of Sisera.
Isaiah 14:2 And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were;...
Do you believe the beginning of the book of John is blatantly referring us back to the beginning of Genesis with the wording the author (John) chose?
If you think yes, do you think he also intended to show that the light spoken of in Genesis before the sun was created was Jesus?
If you believe that light was Jesus, what do you believe the darkness is?
The Council of Trent was held in an attempt to destroy the progress of the Protestant Reformation; it approved many pagan and unbiblical beliefs and declared it was to be accepted under the threat of "anathema".
The Council of Trent declared in its proclamation's the following:
It denied all the doctrines of the Reformation, from Sola Scriptura to "salvation by grace through faith alone" and pronounced anathemas (basically eternal damnation) upon anyone believing what the scripture shows and the Reformation held and preached.
It gave equal value and authority of tradition and Scripture (in actuality, tradition is held above Scripture) and so allowed for all the pagan rites and rituals it had allowed into the church.
I remember seeing a list the other week that had the score on how conservative some Democratic politicians were or were not.
I lost the link it, but I think it showed 2 or 3 Democrats that were in fact "conservative." And there may have been a few more. I remember one even having on his websites policies that he was pretty pro-family and against Abortion, don't remember what state he was in though.
I am just putting it out there though, because I know there are a lot of Americans on these forums. And if I was voting in America in one of those electorates where they still have a conservative Democrat sitting. I would probably be trying to keep thosr conservative Democrats in, to protect that minority in the Democratic...
