John 6:29
[29] Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

“This is the work of God, that you believe on him whom he has sent.” A lot of discussion on “work” never coming to any agreement. All I can share is my own experience and it is this ...the work of God that you believe is ongoing and goes deep is anchored. It doesn’t appear to be an instant “believe” but a full work to completion of “...that you believe on him whom he has sent.” A “believe” that takes power of the resurrection Spirit unto Life. Going from Death unto Life is an action, a birth of travail, not an instant but a work of God. As Romans 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

Hope is also not a surface “Hope” but a Hope that runs deep of living water that springs forth unto Life. “Hope” as an full complete work of God in freeing one from vanity which the creature was subjected to. Not keeping in bondage ...but freedom of transformation out of bondage.

Consider the work of God that you believe in the One He sent and Hope in the rest of Romans 8:26-31 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. [27] And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. [28] And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. [29] For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. [30] Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. [31] What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Don’t know how to bolden under blogs but pay attention to “...he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son...” is a complete work of God that you believe in whom He sent. The misconception fed may be that one instantly “believes” and that is the work of God. What has been your experience though...mine has been “believe” is a work of God that moves and grows and is developed as one goes forward in God building and refining a deeper trust in “that you believe” and be “conformed into the image of his Son.” Is this not the work of God? ...that you believe and endure until the end?
