God has been speaking to me a lot lately about this passage...

John 15
[sup]3 [/sup]You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. [sup]4 [/sup]Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. [sup]5 [/sup]“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. [sup]6 [/sup]If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. [sup]7 [/sup]If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. [sup]8 [/sup]This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Sometimes we can struggle with what our purpose may be in our Christian walk. I know that God has used me so powerfully in the past and I look forward to future exploits with him however, I have come to realize that although exploits are a blessing and the "good works" which God prepared for us in advance to do. Ephesians 2:10. It is the fruit we bear that really shines out as a result of our faith toward God as Spirit filled, born-again believers. Not just in exploits or supernatural encounters with God but also in our daily lives, in general. No walk is ever easy or straight forward, particularly for the believer, living in today's secular world. I am sure that many can relate to what I am saying.

Each life has it's own unique set of struggles ie, finances, work, health issues, family, friends etc but we can be fruitful among such hardships as long as we remain in the vine. Ephesians 5 says ~ [sup]15 [/sup]Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise— [sup]16 [/sup]making the most of the time, because the days are evil. [sup]17 [/sup]So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.
