Philippians 3:9 - "and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith."
Paul wanted to gain the rest of faith, so he refused all hindrances and pressed on. He wanted to remove any interference that stood in the way of his knowing Christ. There is power in His resurrection. There is a "holiness which is from God by faith." It is His love in us. It is His life in us. It is His compassion -- which capacitates us to become the world changers we were destined to become.
Colossians 3:2,3 - "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God."
In order to set your minds on things above you must come to understand the ascended life in Christ. As you come to understand your Christ identity you set your mind on Kingdom realities.
By abiding in Jesus (John 5:4) as you go throughout the day you bathe your heart in His love – by doing this you will develop a passion to help others with their life in Christ, thereby, abandoning the self-life. You develop a lifestyle of intercessory prayer for others (Colossians 1:9) with the idea of eventually discipling them into a higher understanding of Jesus, their Christ identity, their right standing with God, and walking in the Spirit.
Your life, now, is overseeing their equipping and development as you send them out to bear fruit that remains for God’s advancing Kingdom. You remain in communion as you go throughout the day as Jesus modeled for us in the Gospels.
You will experience the Holy Spirit crucifying the self-life as you become less interested in your worldly agendas and pursuits. The “sin that entangles” (Hebrews 12:1) that you have been trying to repent of will begin to dissipate.
You are now effectively advancing God’s Kingdom. You are bringing Heaven to earth. The Great Commission is being advanced through the Believers that you are discipling.
Isaiah 53:3 - "He was despised, and rejected by men; A man of pains, and acquainted with sickness, And as one hiding the face from us, He is despised, and we esteemed him not."
When you are sick, it is an especially good time to pray for others you may know who are sick. During our own pain, we tend to have greater compassion for others who are also hurting. Prayer is sowing seed into the lives of others, and seed always produces a harvest.
