The Old Covenant was a system of judgment and death, of the CLOSED Heaven. But Jesus says: 'You shall see the Heaven OPENED, and a way between Heaven and earth, between God and man, made clear. I am that way. I will open Heaven by My own blood.'
"Then He added, 'In truth, in very truth I tell you all, you shall see heaven wide open…..'" - John 1:51
God is wanting to re-calibrate the hearts of people. Psalm 93 shows Asaph when he came into the sanctuary and experienced the glory. Everything outside the Glory is subject to distortion -- be misrepresented -- our passion, desire, and ability is to live in the glory.
John 7:37 - "If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink."
The release of the Spirit upon you is connected with Jesus' position of being glorified. Everything the Holy Spirit does has only one aim -- to make us like Jesus.
1 John 4:17 --"As He is so are we in this world" -- resurrected, ascended, and glorified. In that position, so are we in the world.
Ephesians 4:23-24 "And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye PUT ON the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness."
We have to PUT ON walking in the Spirit.) ie. We make the decision each day to be led by our spirit rather than our soul (mind, will, and emotions). We walk with our spirit being led by the Holy Spirit.
