What will you do if those that mean evil against you; come and bow down before you for mercy?

What will you do if those who mock and mean you harm...come and bow down before you?

What will you do if those that laugh and ridicule you saying “we will never bow at your feet”... later proved wrong and ashamed come and bow at your feet for mercy?

What would Jesus do?

Genesis 50:15-21
[15] And when Joseph's brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him. [16] And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father did command before he died, saying, [17] So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him. [18] And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants. [19] And Joseph said unto them,

[20] But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

[21] Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.

We like types, yeah? Joseph a foreshadow of He who would come to not condemn the world but to save it. The chosen of God in Matthew 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

“So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass..”

Yet consider as the Father IS, so are the children born of God; vessels mercy. vessels who did nothing to deserve mercy but were chosen to show His mercy.

Could it be said of the children: surely they will hate us and requite all the evil we did to them? Consider Joseph’s words to those who come to bow before him: you thought evil against me but God meant it for good. They who did evil against him fell on their faces. yes, brethren but still those who tossed Joseph into a pit where, when he was brought up out of the pit Joseph was sold, bound and went into slavery and then prison. The same ones who came to bow before Joseph in need of mercy. Joseph’s words: you meant it for evil...God meant it for good.

What will you do if those that mean evil against you; come and bow down before you for mercy?

What will you do if those who mock and mean you harm...come and bow down before you?

What would Jesus do?

Luke 7:47
[47] Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

Matthew 5:43-48
[43] Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. [44] But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; [45] That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. [46] For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? [47] And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others ? do not even the publicans so? [48] Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Matthew 5:11-12
[11] Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you , and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. [12] Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Romans 12:14
[14] Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

Luke 6:27-28
[27] But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, [28] Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

Luke 6:35-36
[35] But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. [36] Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Matthew 27:29-31
[29] And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! [30] And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. [31] And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him .

Luke 23:34-35
[34] Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. [35] And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him , saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.

Psalm 95:6-7
[6] O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. [7] For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,

Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? ...maybe words as dreaded as Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

“Why call you me, Lord,Lord and don’t do the things which I say?”

What will you do if those that mean evil against you; come and bow down before you for mercy?

What will you do if those who mock and mean you harm, come and bow down before you?

What will you do if those that laugh and ridicule you saying “we will never bow at your feet”... later proved wrong and ashamed come and bow at your feet for mercy?

What does the Lord say to do?
