Okay then, you explain this:
“You have heard that our ancestors were told, ‘You must not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.’ 22 But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment!
You were so, so, so close to a really good place when you said - well then, theres no sense trying to be good if it cant be done! (Even Jesus said, why do you call me good? There is only one who is good.) This is like the disciples when they said, but...if this is true then who on earth can be saved???
If it is true that no murderers will be there and if it is true that anger and muttering resentments in your heart are murder, then who on earth can be saved??? That is the correct response. In fact, it is the ONLY response a human can honestly HAVE.
