To the LORD be all the glory . Learn those bibles well . Keep the hope , the faith , Firm to the end .
Let none be moved away from the one true gospel . Stand firm and endure faithful unto the end .

was God ever looking for or expecting perfect obedience from fallen men? Or was He looking for perfect trust....? I think trust...

What do we want from “ our” children .....Perfection or Trust? It’s no different with God .......He will Save anybody and everybody who TRUSTS Him for their Salvation....Those TRYING for their Salvation with their pitiful attempts at Trying to be “ Good Enough?”—- they are Lost....

Stirring up strife.

Or maybe some “ self- depreciation” to kinda lighten the mood....I guess it’s just how one views things, isn't it ? You misunderstood my intentions 100% ....methinks you might have a problem with me—- care to Spit it Out?

Known by whom?

By our works we are known both by God and man. What we do and how we live our life, is a reflection of the inner man. When we give our life to Jesus, He enters in, cleanses us from all sin and Satan flees away. Satan and God cannot co-exist and as a result our lives reflect the goodness of God. Jesus tells us no man can serve two masters, we cannot serve God and mammon and should we be tempted back into the things of the world Satan has gained entry back into our life once again. We are safe and secure in the arms of Jesus, but not when Satan enters in, but that is alright say those who he has entrapped, because once you are saved you are always saved. Please do not let Satan, the deceiver, get even a foothold into your life with his lies. Keep your heart's door firmly closed against his crafty ways and live a life that is pleasing to God.

I was with you until you implied Satan can evict the indwelling holy spirit by our choice if we enter back into the things of the world.
The holy spirit will never leave us. We are sealed. Ephesians 1.
"who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory."

The holy spirit doesn't flee because of sin.The holy spirit was given us because of sin.

Jesus came to free us of sin, taking our place, paying our price, and becoming sin. 2 Corinthians 5:21
That is why holy spirit indwells the believer. To guide us in the Lord's light.
“And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; Whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you” John 14:16-17

I’m not certain Moses was not trusting God. I think I remember God saying Moses failed to display Gods holiness...

I don’t know. Sometimes I read it and think I can see some...arrogance creeped in? It’s hard for me to fully understand.
People of faith can have weak moments in isolated situations, as with Moses when he hit the rock twice out of anger. God said to him, “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.” (Numbers 20:12) That was a poor display of faith in regards to God's activity in the life of Moses at that moment, yet Moses overall still have faith in God and was still saved. Just as the apostle Peter had a weak moment and denied Jesus three times (John 18:15-26) which was also a poor display of faith in this isolated situation, yet Peter overall still had faith in Christ and was still saved.

What does it mean to you to be reborn?
It means to have God's Spirit in you. Which in Osas means, by definition, He can't leave you. So Osas uses it's own meaning of what it means to have the Holy Spirit in you to prove Osas.

What does it mean to you... To be justified?
It means to have your sin guilt removed and a declaration of righteousness put in it's place. Which in Osas means, by definition, that guilt can never come back, so Osas uses it's own definition of justified to prove Osas. It's quite amusing.

So back to the Old Covenant theology.
Yes, those horrible old testament scriptures that make one wise for salvation through faith in Christ and for instruction and training in righteousness!

From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness 2 Timothy 3:15-16

Neither do I entertain hypothetical situations. They are not real, and therefore lack real answers.
You mean like this situation that Osas says is hypothetical, and so is not real, lacking real answers, and does not need to be entertained?

For if God did not spare the natural branches, He will certainly notg spare you either. Take notice, therefore, of the kindness and severity of God: severity to those who fell, but kindness to you, if you continue in His kindness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. Romans 11:21-22

But I'm thinking the talent is representative of something else.
The talent in the Parable is the word of God. Some hear the word of God and do something with it. Others hear it and do nothing with it, and when Jesus comes back they are thrown "into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Matthew 25:30.

ah...I didn’t remember the entire verse, yes, it was trust related!

You and me both, John. I'm all in. We're not really discussing anything here. We're arguing. Eternal security vs. conditional security. There's no reconcilable way to paint it. Either you believe salvation is a once-and-done deal or you don't. I can't see any middle ground. This forum is constantly inundated with the debate. Nothing ever gets settled. I don't see how I always get sucked into it. It's almost like a sickness: The irresistible urge to debate eternal security. AAaarrgh!:(:)
Perhaps we cannot now get together with them to satisfy perfectly all sides, but hopefully posting these things every once in while will help some or all to be increased by God. Too much of it, especially with needless anger or personal mudslinging needs to be avoided. Give God the glory!

Consider this concerning the Israel of God and see what truth goes out to you with regards to who are counted as the seed, that is, the children of God, heirs according to the promise of God.

Romans 9:6 But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, 7 nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.” 8 That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.

“In Isaac your seed shall be called.” 8 That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.

It is clear that the children of the promise are they who are counted as the seed, and are the children of God. And it is clear also that such matter of being the children of God has nothing to do with ancestry nor with one’s works nor with the flesh nor with one’s will nor with anything for that matter.

Now, if that is clear, there should not be any dispute concerning this matter. Rather, let us seek knowledge as to who the children of the promise are, like Isaac is.

Now is Isaac saved? Yes, he is. Was there any instance or even a hint in Isaac’s life that he lost his sonship or ceased to being a child of God and later gained it back? I read none. So then too, all the children of the promise, are saved like Isaac.

Who are, like Isaac, the children of promise, the children of God?

They are those who like Isaac, were born according to the Spirit, by the will of God. Again, let me point out that one’s works nor the flesh nor one’s will had anything to do with this.

Now I have these questions:
1. Have you been born according to the Spirit?
2. If so, by whose will was it? Was it your will?
3. And if you have been born according to the Spirit, whose child are you?

We are known by man by our works, for our works somehow reveals the heart of man. But God knows us even without our works, for God sees the heart of man.

The promise (sacred oath or sacrament) of the Father acts 2:38-39 with reference to ez 36:25-27

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Ez 36:25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Jn 3:5 born again by water and the spirit.

Heb 7:21 For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec
(Oath = sacrament)

Hebrews 8:6
But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. Based on Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

A promise is a sacred oath or sacrament!
Baptismal regeneration is the promise of the Father for union in the new covenant!

The church and the seven sacraments are necessary for salvation

Better covenant on better promises

2 Timothy 1:1
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,

Life of supernatural grace merited by Christ in His passion and death!

An oath to sacramental life in the new covenant in union with the mediator and communion with God, and the saints!

Promise of the Father acts 2:23-39
Promise is an oath and an oath is a sacrament! This promise of the sacrament of baptism refers to ez. 36:25-27

1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Galatians 3:27
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

1 Pet 3:20
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us!
(Ark of Noah a type of the church, member of Christ and his church and salvation by baptism!)
(Outside the ark all died and outside the church there is no salvation!)
