Do you remember the details of your honeymoon? Like...what cities did you stop at? What activities did you and your spouse do (sightseeing, beach, etc)? What restaurants, or hotels did you use? Do you remember the trip or is it a distant memory, a blur? lol

Also, if you answer, could you tell how long you've been married?

Married 48 years in September.

Our pre-honeymoon consisted of a long bus ride on a Friday from Great Falls Montana to Coeur d'Alene Idaho. Got hitched at a unique bikers' and genuine marriage chapel, sanctioned by the civil authorities of the City of Coeur d'Alene. A blood test was also required and a verification of ages and names etc.

Our honeymoon was in a room, overnight, at the Flamingo Motel right off the highway. The bus fare back was for the Saturday. We both had to be back at work on the Monday. That was it.....later we took a 2 weeks vacation around Montana, especially enjoying the rustic cabins and tenting around Flathead Lake and Glacier and Waterton (Canadian side) National Parks. It was BEAUTIFUL and MEMORABLE....lots to tell on that road trip.

If you want I can add much more to that trip, that is suitable for public reading...APAK

Took my wife on a moose hunting adventure in Canada. We’ve been married ten years.
I just want to add, I don’t recommend this. I had booked this hunt like two years before we got married not as a honeymoon, just as a hunt for me and we didn’t have any money for a honeymoon. So she just tagged along the hunt and said “this is our honeymoon”. Maybe once we have an empty nest I will renew our vows and take her on a real honeymoon!

We went to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA and stayed at an inexpensive hotel not far from the Park. There was no Disney World then and the prices were not so high that they would bankrupt a person to go.

We were both so tired as we had left San Jose very early that morning. We fell asleep intending to visit the Park later in the day. When my wife woke up it was very dark in the room and she cried out to me, saying in a very disappointed voice that we had missed Tinkerbell. It was not true and it was not dark outside.

I had closed the heavy drapes covering the windows so that with the lights turned off the inside of that room was as dark as a very dark starless, moonless night. She did get to see Tinkerbell. We will have been married 49 years as of the 25th of this month.

We used to return periodically but no more. On the last trip in 2008 we went to Disney World in Florida instead and it did almost bankrupt us. I would be surprised if we ever go again... We have memories and lots of pictures loaded into my computer for easy access.

June 13th will be six years married to my husband. :) He lived two hours away and I was so nervous, even though I was 29, I had my friend chaperone us. LOL. We went to see the movie Divergence and to a Chinese place on our first date. I fell in love with his quiet/gentle spirit. His kindness to everyone. He came every weekend to see me and go to church with me when we were dating. When we got married, his aunt's were wedding planners. I got a fairy tale wedding at my little church I went to for 8 years. For honeymoon we were traveling to Texas to see my mom in a nursing home, but I guess a hurricane was coming through at the time, and we ended up staying in Branson, Missouri. We visited the titanic museum and went on a duck boat tour. It was fun... We went through this small little town that was packed and ate there and stayed at a motel there/went swimming and things before going home. And we went to a cavern too. Precious memories. I really have a wonderful husband.

That was my aunt, matron of honor. <3 She passed away from stage five cancer... Just a wonderful woman. I am glad she got to be there for my wedding and my daughter's dedication.

We will have been married 60 years this August 5th .

Hubby booked the honeymoon , as my dad had paid for the wedding reception..

little did I know how I’d hate it all!

He was very drunk , and I was very angry .
We stay in London the first night at a big posh hotel. As I say he was drunk and pass out across the bed .
I was hungry and cried myself to sleep.
Next day we traveled by train down to the Devon coast . “Sea view Hotel”. I was 19 he was 23, everyone staying there were old.

I worked in London so was very fashion conscious.
This hotel was about a mile along a cart track...no road....I had 4” high heels... it was murder.

then on top of this nightmare ...I found he had been a jockey in training in this village ...all he wanted to do was revisit his old haunts and try to find old friends he’d made as a lad . I felt alone, bored , and neglected.
It was horrible . When I thought it couldn’t get any worse...it started raining !!

needless to say ..the only time we have celebrated our wedding was for our 40th when our kids sent us off on a cruise .
Dave is 83 now and me 79... to this day he says -“ Im not a sentimental or romantic guy.” :D
No kidding! LOL

But we got saved three years into our marriage ....he is a wonderful man , and my strong rock ...we’ve had a good marriage in spite of the rocky start . :):D

There was a replica of the Harry Potter castle on the duck tour too. I thought it was really cool at the time. I may not do Harry Potter now, but the castle was neat looking. Branson, Missouri really is an awesome place. We need to go back one day.

Those rocky starts are not an uncommon thing sister. That God brought you together and has kept you together all of these years is the amazing blessing of God. Ours was not 3 but 4 years into it before God took an hand in it to bind us together. That is why we renewed our vows after 5 years for that 2nd time He was most definitely in it with us. I was such an old man at the start [28 years old and she was 21] we may never attain to your 60 years, but only 1 more to the Jubilee year of 50!

Give God the glory!

Branson is quite the interesting place. I've been there many times. Did you ever hear about the duck boat accident a few years or so back? Pretty tragic.

Yeh... I was sad to hear about that. Didn't they close the duck tours after that or something?

They did for awhile. It was three years ago when 17 people died in that incident. But they reopened this year, I believe.
