(Matthew 8:21) is a very interesting statement Jesus made for multiple reasons.
Also (Luke 9:60).
It really begs some questions.
Is Jesus referring to the dead as those who will ultimately die spiritually in the Lake of Fire?
(Revelation 21:8)
If so, why wouldn't Jesus want to help/save those people?
If Jesus was referring to the man's father and others who would bury him, why was the man he was speaking to excluded from this assessment? Why wasn't he spiritually dead as well?
When did Jesus give him life, if that was the case? It appears that Jesus was just then initially inviting the man to follow Him and be His disciple so ... when did the man receive Life?
When you consider the parable of the Wheat and the Tares (Matthew 13:24-30; 36-43), you can't help but notice that Jesus speaks of two very different types of people in the world; and He explains it clearly after the parable to mean that the devil somehow generated the Tares, or counterfeit people. Are these the people who Jesus refers to as dead in Matthew 8:21 & Luke 9:60? Can these people be saved ... at all?
Another example of His indifference to certain people is in Matt. 13:11 & Mark 4:11.
(Matthew 13:10-11)
(Mark 4:10-12)
Jesus clearly states in Mark 4:12 that if the people in question were to see and hear and understand what He was saying to the disciples, He would HAVE to save them; indicating clearly that He had NO intention of doing so.
In light of these verses, look now at the commonly quoted "Lord, Lord" verse with new eyes.
Basically, Jesus says to these people who have certainly done many wonderful things in His name, "I never knew you, depart from me, sinners!" (my translation, but accurate)...and He sends them to the Lake of Fire. (Matthew 7:22)
The devil counterfeits just about everything that God creates and uses it for his own purposes. Is it possible that there have been counterfeit people among us from the very beginning and God will have nothing to do with them despite their best efforts?
What exactly is going on here and why do the churches NEVER address this topic?
