If you ever have felt like God is leading you or the Spirit is saying something to you but you just haven't put a finger on it. That is a message in and of itself, but what I want to say about that is; just because God is leading you - you may not always know what it is he is leading you into. What you can know, it will be something you have never noticed or something completely different than what you understood before - or something very paramount to a believers solid growth in their understanding.
My own experience has been that I felt like I was being led and didn't know into what. In my young days of searching the scriptures and before I learned how to search them, all I knew was; I had a hunger. That hunger will keep you seeking - a hungry heart will not be turned away. Quite the opposite - we just feel like he may have left me out or just forgot about me. But just like Galatians 4:1, says he is watching - listening - checking in with the tutors and governors. (circumstances and situations). Checking in - as a good father will do to check on his children to see how their progress is going (a metaphor but truth in it). He has alot invested in their education and training and wants to know at all times how it is coming along.
1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. - Galatians 4:1-2.
The schoolhouse has to take a child from a servant and make them the 'lord of all' as they are by inheritance but cannot handle (or whatever the word would be necessary to carry on in family business so to say) what it is their father is to give them (their inheritance). So they get a little here and a little there as they grow, in the schoolhouse (the world).
There comes a time 'in your father' when he reveals what it is the schoolhouse is for. When you are in the schoolhouse you have no clue what it is there for. It is just the wicked mean evil world that needs straightening out, and we think 'I was the worst sinner ever created' and need to do something in the world to fix it (now some truth in that because working in and through the schoolhouse - because the need is so great but that is immaterial to what we are talking about right now). That is our thinking as young believers, like we had the market on sin. Then as a believer we are more than willing to take on the task of straightening out the world.
The almighty and powerful knowledge of good and evil. I don't know if any more should be said about the knowledge of Good and evil, once you mix in the knowledge of good and evil. Once the knowledge of Good and evil is part of your instructors - comes into play there's nothing more to be said about that, you will be stuck with it until it changes. Only your father can give you a different knowledge hence the schoolhouse. The Holy Spirit is your teacher he may use the schoolhouse but he is not an instructor in the schoolhouse - circumstances and situations according to scripture are your tutors and governors which are instructors in the schoolhouse.
You have heard me talk about my old friend Don Byrd. One thing Don used to say is; this world and the events (circumstances and situations) in this world have no control over me. The schoolhouse of God is still in operation in my life but they have no effect on me. The schoolhouse had done its job and Don had become lord of all - would be my description. When Don spoke or when Don taught you knew that he knew something, he knew what he was talking about. That is who you want to sit under if you're sitting under a teacher you want that teacher to know without a shadow of a doubt what they are talking about. Doesn't mean they will know it all or they are perfect but they will know enough to lead other believers into knowledge.
11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; - Romans 1:11.
Scripture calls them the fathers of the faith - there are not many according to scripture and if you ever meet one you will know it. Happy trails saint's.
