One of the Greek definitions, for the word 'know' means to have an intimate personal knowing. Another word simply means to 'know about' someone. The Jews who rejected Jesus never knew (intimately) God otherwise they would not have rejected His Son.
They have head knowledge but not heart knowledge. Love comes from the heart. Jesus loves the sinner and calls them to repentance, while they, with their flawed head knowledge, say it is not necessary. Their sinful condition remains, and still they continue in their sin, while at the same time proclaiming they are always saved when they have never taken the first steps towards ridding themselves of their load of sin and guilt by coming to Jesus in repentance of heart. Read Pilgrims Progress.

Adam and Eve were Chastised for their sin.....just as we are....they were ejected from Paradise, not damned to Hell

What about them angels that were in heaven that sinned?

What about them?

"For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment…" (2 Peter 2:4)

Christ died for every sin that has ever been committed and every sin that ever will be committed.....

Really?

"And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come." (Matthew 12:32)

We used to sing a chorus based on Pilgrim's progress, "Rolled away, rolled away, and the burden of my heart rolled away."
.
Is it this one by Isaac Watts?

Alas! and did my Savior bleed
And did my Sov’reign die?
Would He devote that sacred head
For such a worm as I?

At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,

It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!

Thy body slain, sweet Jesus, Thine—
And bathed in its own blood—
While the firm mark of wrath divine,
His soul in anguish stood.

At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!

Was it for crimes that I had done
He groaned upon the tree?
Amazing pity! grace unknown!
And love beyond degree!

At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!

Well might the sun in darkness hide
And shut his glories in,
When Christ, the mighty Maker died,
For man the creature’s sin.

At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!

Thus might I hide my blushing face
While His dear cross appears,
Dissolve my heart in thankfulness,
And melt my eyes to tears.

At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!

But drops of grief can ne’er repay
The debt of love I owe:
Here, Lord, I give myself away,
’Tis all that I can do.

At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!

Can you imagine a congregation patiently and enthusiastically singing that song, in whole, today?

They are in Hell.Without hope.

We Humans are Saved by Faith.....the Fallen Angels have SEEN God, Heaven and everything else there is to see.....one can not exhibit Faith if the object of that faith has been seen....

I excluded that.....I figured that exception would be too well known to this or any group of Christians ....too obvious to mention, in other words.....

I don't hear it sung today, and apart from a few people, I wouldn't see the happy shining faces that I used to see in the congregation either.

What is the matter with me? I fell in the shower last week and must have bumped my head...

Btw.....how’s that “ sin no more” thingy working for ya?

Some other things to consider......Nobody in the Bible “ Repented” more than God did....( nine times, give or take)
If “ Repentance Of Sin” is the recipe for Salvation, few in Heaven would be exalted more than Judas....he Repented to the point that he gave the money back to the Pharisees that gave it to him....

“ Repenting Of Sins” is a great thing—— it just does not Save anybody in and of itself......TURNING *TO* GOD ( Repentance) is the Repentance that Saves......NOT Turning * FROM* sins......
Remember the Promise ? “Turn to me and I will Turn to you” ......THAT will get you Saved...

Turning from Sin? That will perhaps make you more Moral , but God ain’t in the business of saving “ moral” people.....Hell will be full of “ moral” people . God is looking for “ Dead” people that KNOW that they are Dead—— “ Dead in Trespasses and Sin” .....That is the condition of every human being before they TURN to God ( the type of repentance that God demands) with Faith in Jesus Christ....

Before I turned to God and got Saved, I never Repented of any sins—— I sinned to my heart’s content and thought nothing of it...on the other side of Salvation, the side I am on now, I find myself repenting more often than I care to admit......I don’t do it to get Saved or stay Saved —- I do it to restore a damaged relationship .....it just comes naturally with the Salvation “ package” .....previously it did not even exist......

Any “ repentance” that doe not involve Turning *TO* God as opposed to Turning *From* Sin is a Fool’s Errand and it will NOT save anybody......Faith in Jesus WILL!

Wanna know what True Repentance looks like? Just check out the tale of the Evil Tax-Collector Who finally saw himself for the Lost Sinner that He was ( just like you and me ) and cried out, “ Lord, have Mercy on me, a Sinner”.... He Turned to God. Jesus said it got him Saved. It worked for him.It worked for me. It will work for anybody . It’s a Promise Of God.
Zacchaeus repented of his sin and was saved. It is an admission of a person's sinful condition and their need of a saviour. That is what repentance is and that is what Jesus told us to do. The Pharisees felt they were above this, and that is the impression I get from those who follow the OSAS doctrine. At least I understand you better. Jesus could never get any sense out of the Pharisees either. They are best ignored if you ask me.

Tired of the Gospel being turned into a system of law that only drags us down, robs us of joy
and stifles our love for the One who died for us?
Tired of being rerouted back to the law in order to be sanctified or to prove that your faith is genuine?

The Gospel is actually good news and here is why.

1. God has actually concluded all people under sin, whether they be Jew or Gentile, rich poor, black or white etc. (Gal 3:22)
Yes. He did. All men are sinners and are unable to please God in the power of their flesh.
2. Jesus Christ perfectly fulfilled all the requirements for righteousness AND took all our sins upon Himself and took the punishment that those sins fully deserve. (Rom 5:19)

Hold your horses there pardner. ;) Jesus didn't take the punishment for our sins on Himself...although He did take our sins on Himself. It was our sins that put Him on the cross. Likewise our own sinfulness necessitates the need to join Jesus on His cross. What is little understood is the truth of what Paul said..."I am crucified with Christ"... Not...He was crucified instead of me. We are not to avoid the cross ourselves because we think we avoid the power of sin and the responsibility for our sins by believing in a religious abstraction that has no power over sin.

The standard of Christ today is reduced to having a form of godliness but denying the power. No one can be saved by having a certain religious belief. We will not be judged by our religious opinions and bents. No, we will be judged by our works. If we seek to be justified by Christ and are still found to be sinners....is Christ then a minister of sin? (that's in Gal. 2)

3. through faith, He declares us righteous, (Rom 3:28)

Romans 3 is about having a justification that is apart from a human best effort adherence to the law. Romans 5 expresses the truth that justification is being one of entering into the life of Christ. Jesus was raised for our justification so that all who walk in His perfected humanity walk above the pull of sin and this world. The justification of Christ's blood is in His life...not death. The life is in the blood. We experience that victory only as we abide in Christ. So we are to walk as He walked.

robes us in that righteousness, (Gal 3:27), regenerates us as His children (Jn 1:12), and freely grants us the Holy Spirit (Gal 3:2) to strengthen us, enlighten us, convict, comfort and guide us and most of all, direct our hearts into the love of Jesus (Jn 16:7-14), who has granted eternal life as a free gift through faith in Him (Rom 5:15-18).

4. We died to the law that held us that we may live anew to God. (Rom 7:1-4) (Gal 2:19)

Yes. But the robes of righteousness are a further work of grace from that of an initial regeneration. The reason that so few know about the fulness of grace is by not going the second mile. And that further step is made when we go to the throne of grace to receive the full measure of grace which fills our lamps with oil. But the cost of possessing the victory of Christ is everything we have and are. So people will fight the truth till their dying breath since they don't want to show their love for God by a full surrender to Him as an empty vessel. The foolish among us call that a gospel of works. I wonder who came up with such a delusional obfuscation of the truth? Hmmm...

Please keep the responses civil and I'll try to do the same. :)

Please do! :)

Your “ impression” is wrong......it could not be MORE wrong....

“ Repenting Of Sin” would have did nothing for Zacchaeus Salvation-Wise had it not lead to the Realization that he needed a Savior and then TURNED to that Savior—— it is that “ TURNING “ to God that is crucial ....it is THAT “ Turning” that is the Repentance That Saves.....” Turn to Me and I will Turn to you” is the Promise Of God that will Save you, if you Believe it.....

Nobody Repented as sincerely as Judas did, if “Repent” means nothing more than the realization and sorrow or regret for sin....Did Judas “ Turn to God?” ......of course not. He turned to a Hangman’s Noose......Repentance is Mandatory for Salvation....it is imperative that we understand what it is.....and just as important, what it ain’t.....The Repentance That Saves is NOT Turning * FROM* Sin, but Turning *TO* God.......as in “Lord, have Mercy on me a Sinner”........THAT is True Salvation Repentance .....That ALONE will get the job done....” Whoever Asks for Mercy shall Receive it”......Turn to God ( Repent) and watch him take charge.....visible results for all of you Self- Righteous “ Fruit Inspectors” out there , may or may not take time.....

That is something else they did, the whited sepulchers that they were, they accused the innocent of their own wrongdoing.

Jesus declared Zacchaeus righteous based on the Old Covenant standard of righteousness. He paid restitution to the ones he had cheated, which constitutes a righteous approach under the law.

Compare Luke 19 with exodus 22.

"If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, let him pay double." (Ex. 22:7)

This has nothing to do with grace. it is according to the law. If a person breaks the law, then it shows that they are still under the law and need to fulfill its righteous obligations. Easy believism wasn't yet invented before a true grace was instituted. With the genuine comes all the attempts at counterfeiting the truth.

Not interested. He hasn't even had the grace to admit he was wrong about repentance.
