The main problem I have with the OSAS people, is that they say they are always saved even if we live a life that is not pleasing to God, it is impossible to backslide despite the warnings, and they seem to have forgotten it is necessary to persevere to the end of their days.
Otherwise, provided we live a life that is right with God, we bring honour and glory to His name, and we heed the warnings about the five foolish virgins I believe in the faithfulness of God unto salvation.
.
You did not answer my post.

My question was not for you to answer it by placing folks into two camps OSAS/NOSAS categories. I was asking of you a personal question if you did not realize it - concerning your spirit and the Spirit indwelt in those that is the true signature of a true believer.

This is not a subject of two buckets or two categories of people and then to conveniently embark on 'cutting down' one over the other as an impersonal subject at all. If any subject is personal in scripture, this is the one - salvation!

I believe by labelling the way you did as many people do this way is to avoid speaking about the real questions and answers or truth concerning salvation. What is salvation? Is it permanent or temporary in ones life? Is it knowable? Is it an idea or a personal reality? Do we decide salvation for ourselves or does God? Do we believe that God chooses a person for salvation, or is it a 50/50 deal where we use our will and allow God to give us salvation on our conditions, ; by put 'free' will?...and many other serious questions that need real answers...

So let me just ask you about what you have written here.

Who determines if we or someone is living a life pleasing or unpleasing to God? Is it from ourselves, our own opinions, with our own standards of conduct, morality and 'goodness?' What is the living standard for salvation?

And what does 'backsliding' mean in scripture? Does this mean loss of salvation, probation status, or salvation is kept intact?

And what does 'preserving' to 'the end' mean in scripture? How is this done? By our own efforts? By God's efforts? another 50/50 deal? Or by some other way?

Can you try and answer these questions at your convenience? It would be appreciated because you have answered me with statements that you are sure about, and I'm not that sure in what you say.

Blessings,

APAK

Although the offer of salvation is to ALL people, it is we as individuals who choose to believe or not to believe as we see fit.

Equally, we can turn away from Christ after first accepting His offer of salvation. Those are your options. God gave us free will. We are not bound in chains, and this is why we need to keep on to the end which is embodied in OSAS teaching and don't you forget it.

God is our judge.

Backsliding is to turn away from God.

To perserver is to remain faithful all the days of our life.

The one thing we need to do is to remain faithful to God, to do otherwise, is to become a slave to Satan who will bind you in chains.

There is no such thing as "the believer". Do you realize that not everyone is of the faith who claims to be?

True...people do lie.
It is only the individual and God who knows for sure the true Confessed Belief from a mans Heart.

Saying one is a Believer, is a general term, as is one saying they are a Christian, or Catholic, or Protestant.

[QUOTE} Gentiles are not better than Jews. Many have an anti-Semitic stance whereby they believe that a Christians can in no way be cut off from the Lord on judgment day.[/QUOTE]

And that IS a problem...using General terms when discussing Spiritual matters.

Gentile, Jew, Christian....is not Gods measure for determining WHO IS or Will Be Saved, BEFORE the Judgement hour.

The Very Good News Jesus brought and offered to the World...IS THIS:
How any man CAN BECOME Converted BY and THROUGH Christ Jesus.
And;
A man Converted IN Christ...IS SAVED.

It is not about Gentile or Jew being one better than the other...
It is about the choices of individual Gentiles and individual Jews Being Converted IN Christ Jesus....that Definately have a BETTER RESULT... Being:
A guarantee OF EVERLASTING LIFE WITH their Lord God Almighty.

Glory to God,
Taken

I can see a little more clearly where you stand on this topic now. There is much more to it though than yours or anyone's one-liners you presented here. And I do not agree with them because you have left gaping holes in them, as thy apply to salvation.

For example, what does it mean to remain faithful all the days of our life? And in this body no less. Is this preserving to the end, sustained by 'our own' faith? By being always 'in' the Kingdom by always placing ourselves and being in the Spirit? Allowing as humanly possible to yield our own will, over to the Spirit, as our only will operating within us, as Christ did? And again, does this mean persevering? Is this even possible for us even though the 'old man' is crucified?

Where in scripture does it say we are to remain faithful all the days of our life to be saved?

CORRECT.

after first accepting His offer of salvation.

FALSE.

Acceptance IS; An ACT of mans Freewill.

Such an Acceptance IS: expressly "required" by the "mans Belief IN HIS HEART"...

God IS NOT FOOLED, by men "who GIVE a MINDFUL ORAL TESTIMONY of Belief" TO THE EARS OF MEN.

Thus, when MEN HEAR the "confession" of a mans BELIEF....As a man, YOU KNOW NOT, "if it is the confession the a mans "MIND, or HEART"

Whereby men, can 'presume'...
God is ALL-KNOWING.
God Himself "searches the Heart of men"...
TO SEE FOR HIMSELF, "IF" the mans Confession of Belief, "IS" or "IS NOT" from the mans heart.

"IF" the mans confession of belief...
"IS NOT FROM HIS HEART"...
Oops...the man DOES NOT RECEIVE Gods blessing of CONVERSION..

Men however, will HEAR the false confession.
Men, will KNOW, an appointment will be arranged for Water Baptism.
Men, will SEE that man Baptized in Water...
And low and behold ... the men hear, observing....WILL DECLARE a false truth ABOUT THAT MAN.

And SHOULD the day arrive, that that SAME MAN, "comes forth" and announces:
"That he DOES NOT BELIEVE"...

You have been fooled...
BY A FOOL, who Tricked you...
And thereafter you continue to be fooled...
Preaching...
MEN CAN BE SAVED and then UNSAVED.
When NOWHERE in Scripture is such a thing Taught.

A Converted man IS a SAVED man.
There is a WHOLE list of "GODS WORKS", God performs TO Convert a man....
TO SAY, HINT, IMPLY: a man Converted .... HAS FREEWILL to "UNDO" Gods WORKS, is FALSE..

Yes, faithfulness is a gift of the Spirit and usually only expressed clearly and outwardly, in action, when under fire, during trials and under the threat of imminent death. It is for and given from our LORD, operating in his and through his Son's spirit, our Lord, for ourselves, and also to others under fire as we are faithful not to abandon them in their own trials. We lay down our life for them if need be.

Of course, and as Romans 14:23 says, "But whoever has doubts (no saving faith) is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin."

Either one has this saving faith, or not, in and by Spirit. And the Spirit does not sin of course, for there is no lack of faith that is given to us. Now the degree or strength of faith at times in our life as it varies, is another matter. That is the real human flesh problem that battles within us to try and reduce our faith to naught, permanently, and never can, if we have the Spirit of Christ of truth within us.

I see you deleted your original post here when you actually said to me.

"I'm sorry, but I shall have to leave this conversation, put you back on ignore. I only took you off ignore to answer your question, but this conversation is getting weird. Bye."

I would have more confidence and belief in you and your words if you stuck to your guns and kept your original post. Seeing that you had to alter your words like this, tells me you are not to be trusted and you obviously do not have nothing worthwhile to contribute concerning this topic.

Go back to your security blanket and hide away Cooper....for now

Cooper, I have a very 'thick skin.' If you are telling the truth as you know it, then it is always welcome. You have your view and I have mine.

Christians must Persevere......How do we accomplish this? The Bible solves this dilemma quite easily.... It asks the question—- “ Who is it that Perseveres?” The Bible gives us the answer — “ It is he that believes that Jesus is the Son Of God .” Simple, isn’t it ?

The Problem is solved.....what else ya got? Lol.......

I think I'm wasting my time being here. How can a Calvinist not know about perseverance? It is a main theme in their religion.

19 Bible verses about Perseverance

OSAS people...they say they are always saved even if we live a life that is not pleasing to God
Precious friend, then what do you DO With God's JUDGMENT On "the
backsliding saint, who receives NO reward" On The JUDGMENT Day? ie:

man says:
ONLY those who FAITHFULLY PERSEVERE to the end, SHALL BE SAVED?

God Says, In 1Co 3:14:
"If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall
receive a reward."
Correct, man?

God Says, In 1Co 5:5, about the
"sinning in fornication" SAINT:
"To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh,
that the spirit may Be SAVED in The Day of the Lord Jesus."
"The {JUDGMENT} Day"
Correct, man?

And, Then God Says In 1Co 3:15:

If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but
he himself SHALL BE SAVED; yet so as by fire."
(1 Corinthians 3 : 8-15 KJB!)

But
man SAYS: "he himself SHALL BE DAMNED"?

Now, who do I believe? man, OR God?

Good day...

Good day...
1 Corinthians 3:13-15 is self explanatory. This is from the Good News Bible and is about the work of the evangelist or teacher. Those teachers whose work is founded on the Rock Christ Jesus will receive their reward, but those whose converts are burnt up, will lose their reward, but they (the teacher) will escape the fire.

“And the quality of each person's work will be seen when the Day of Christ exposes it. For on that Day fire will reveal everyone's work; the fire will test it and show its real quality. If what was built on the foundation survives the fire, the builder will receive a reward. But if your work is burnt up, then you will lose it; but you yourself will be saved, as if you had escaped through the fire.” (GNB)

1 Corinthians 5 is about sexual immorality in the church. Such a person should be handed over to Satan, meaning they should be excommunicated from the church.

Now, it is actually being said that there is sexual immorality among you so terrible that not even the heathen would be guilty of it. I am told that a man is sleeping with his stepmother! How, then, can you be proud? On the contrary, you should be filled with sadness, and the man who has done such a thing should be expelled from your fellowship. (3-4) And even though I am far away from you in body, still I am there with you in spirit; and as though I were there with you, I have in the name of our Lord Jesus already passed judgment on the man who has done this terrible thing. As you meet together, and I meet with you in my spirit, by the power of our Lord Jesus present with us, you are to hand this man over to Satan (excommunicate) for his body to be destroyed, so that his spirit may be saved in the Day of the Lord. (1 Corinthians 5:1-5 GNB)

All is not lost because:-
My friends, if any of you wander away from the truth and another one (teacher) brings you back again, remember this: whoever turns a sinner back from the wrong way will save that sinner's soul from death and bring about the forgiveness of many sins. (James 5:19-20)

Teachers Beware.

Have you ever considered that the “OSAS Life” is the Life that *IS* pleasing to God?

God is not looking for Perfection.....He is looking for Trust.....One May agree or one may disagree with the Doctrine Of OSAS , But it is definitely the Doctrine That shows the most Trust in God and GOD ALONE for Salvation....I think that’s the way God likes it...Jesus paid it all.....

The Book Of James ........the last refuge of the Legalist.
Like it or not, James is part of the Bible. Your comment is an attack on part of the scriptures. At the same time, the Bible never once addresses legalists, legalism, or anything close to it. Jesus taught us to teach and obey the least commandments, which would be legalism, as legalism is strict adherence to the law. I challenge you to go through the KJV Bible and show a single instance where the word legalist comes up.
