Trying to say Sunday isn't the first day of the week is what does not make common sense.

Yeah, that's right, trying to say Sunday is not the 1st day of the week does not make common sense, does it? That's why I NEVER SAID THAT!

I can't argue with that logic. If I look at the calendar on my computer, it agrees with you. Sunday according to the calendar is the first day of the week.

What day will be the first day of the week in the year 2100?
Currently, the Julian calendar is 13 days behind the Gregorian calendar. This gap will change in the year 2100 when the discrepancy will increase to 14 days.

Really doesn't matter that different calendars are used by man. God's calendar will never change, the Hebrew reckoning per The Old Testament is the one He gave Israel, commanding them to keep His sabbath on the 7th day, Saturday. By the way, in the Spanish language, the day Saturday is called Sabado, from the Hebrew word for Sabbath.

Using any scripture whatsoever as defense for rejecting a Commandment of God, particularly when those scriptures are misused, misapplied, misunderstood, and in some cases deliberately so, is belittling yourselves. Don't blame those who point out your errors.

You're living in your own 'mind', which definitely isn't in The Word of God. Next time you throw 'bs' out like that, how about providing Scripture to back up what you're saying? That junk you wrote above sure cannot be backed up in God's Word.

Brethren - the above is what professional slanderers do. They bear all sorts of false witness with no Scripture support for their arguments at all. And what is really amazing, is they think someone with enough sense to study God's Word for oneself is going to waste time listening to those types!

Why would we ask the Jews?
Because they identify the weekly cycle accurately.
Let me clarify; traditionally the week was numbered starting with Sunday as the first day of the week and Saturday being the seventh..... this goes back Millenia. We also know the seventh day was Saturday because Jesus (Jew) honoured it.

Modern calendars however are changing this numbering. In some parts of the world Sunday is designated the seventh day of the week and Monday the first.

Here in Australia it will depend on who produces the calendar as to how this numbering of days applies. One calendar will number Saturday as the seventh day while another calendar will number Sunday as the seventh day.

This change is being done without consultation, in other words, by stealth so that soon all calendars globally will designate Sunday as the seventh day.

Where in the Bible does the Lord say the Jews identify the weekly cycle accurately?

Those in Christ Jesus are not held to a certain day to worship. Any day of the week is good.

Sabbath Keepers are in Christ Jesus and they aren't held to only one day of the week they're allowed to worship either. They can worship any day they like. They also don't have to be Jewish to do so and many are not SDA's.

They simply choose to observe the 7th day out of reverence for the only day that God ever sanctified (Gen. 2:2) at the end of Creation Week and because it is the only day God ever commanded to be worshiped upon.

They just do it to stay true to scripture. That's all.

Exo 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Lev 26:2 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.

Deu 5:14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.

Lesson #1
LOVE thy Neighbor as Thyself

Lesson#2
Do Unto Other's as you would have done To You

Lesson #3
Be each other's servants. Don't overburden each other

God was "proving" them. If they would keep His Law.
His Spiritual Law is laying just beneath the stone covering it.
And the more He showed them how to love one another, by his own example of caring for them for 40 years in the wilderness.
God "proved" Himself and "Proved" that it was More Blessed to give than to receive.
And He GAVE US His Rest, His Peace.

Tomorrow is the 7th day. All you have is today.
What will you do with your today?
Will you give it to others?
Would you work so that your co-worker could have a day off?
Or
Go to a ball game.
Have a Bible "study"
Maybe just kick your feet up and take a sigh....

When your working that 60 hour work week, jugling jobs, kids, politics...
It's nice to have a day off.
Some people don't have that leisure.
They have to work double shifts, 3 jobs, at least some overtime just to pay the bills.
Now, Economies do what they gotta do.
But Economies that come and go, shouldn't change your heart about caring about other people.

But the economy is used against us. It always has been. The Love of money.
And we tend to forget about the little guy.
You own a nice company. You want to make some extra profit.
You offer your employees to work the weekend to make some extra money.
Times are hard, they really could use it. Most today will agree, with economics.

We weren't brought to this time and place for Economics sake, Amen?

GIVE of Yourself..
GIVE others rest
GIVE bread to the hungry..

KEEP MY SABBATH

(if you don't watch the video.. don't reply)
God Bless

Where in the Bible does the Lord say the Jews identify the weekly cycle accurately?
The reference point is Jesus. He kept the seventh day as per the commandment. He was a Jew.

Would you say that is sufficient proof to tell us which in the seven day cycle is the seventh?

I beginning to think there are a really lot of closed minded people here.

Before the evening and morning ever existed God created the heaven and the earth.
And these are the generations in the Day that God created the heaven and the earth.

There are generations in A DAY.

The Sabbath is a reminder that there is a DAY coming when no man can work.
We aught to be doing DOUBLE TODAY while there is still time.

The Sabbath is an EVENT.
Something happens that DAY.
Everything comes to a hault to give everyone and every living thing ... space.. stop what your doing. Check your surroundings, your attitudes.
Come and sit down, take a breath, and learn what or where you could use some improvement.
Reflect on how God loves and protects and provides. And ask yourself.. could I do better.

And I gave her space to repent of her sins...
Rev 2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.

This "space" , this "time" , is a period of grace.
We are standing in that "Space" , right now.

You all want to argue about this day or that day..

TODAY is that DAY.

This period of Grace is God's Sabbath he has given to us.
You can either have faith and believe it, accept it, be greatful for it,
or just ignore it.

That's your choice. You choose , God's Calendar or man's calendar?

Hugs

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me where God (or Jesus) say Saturday is the last day of the week.

I'm still waiting for someone to answer, what was the last thing God created before he took a rest?

How long you think we'll be waiting ya reckon?

The story of Creation lays it out very clearly Bob. You’ll need to refresh your memory from the first few chapters in Genesis.

Man was created on the sixth day and God blessed the seventh day after he had rested.
There ya go miss Zigg. I’m sorry it was so ‘difficult’ to get a snappy reply.

Unless you've got a "thus sayeth the Lord" that states, "Saturday is the last day of the week," I am not bound to that. In my personal relationship with the Lord, he will tell me which day to go to church.
Ummm. The Sabbath is the seventh day. Now unless you know something the rest of us missed, God established the week by creating everything in 6 days and resting the seventh. When I was at school I learned that the week has seven days. If the Sabbath is the seventh day, it's the last day of the week. Most Christians will tell you that Sunday is now sacred because of Christ's resurrection on the first day on the week. Now if the number of days of the week have changed since creation and had a permanent effect, ( France I believe attempted to institute a 10 day week but eventually sunk), I don't know about it. Do you have any evidence of such a change the rest of society has missed?

We were discussing whether or not the sabbath has to be Saturday. Do I have to answer an unrelated question?

The church = Eve

God did not leave man alone. He gave him an helpmeet for him.
A helper.
Us.

And then God rested on the seventh Day.

We're supposed to be HELPING..

Well the topic of the opening post is:

God changed Seventh Day Sabbath Worship to First Day of the Week

I don't see Saturday in the title.

Nice try. I stand by what I said. You denigrate yourself when you deliberately misapply scripture... As many do when using Colossians 2 as an excuse for ignoring the 4th Commandment. No-one is belittling you. You do it to yourself. You are the only who suffers as a result of your own misunderstanding. Calling me a professional slanderer won't get you off the hook. You are still misapplying scripture regardless of what you think of me.
