The thing is walking up to a Christian young woman and telling them that they are arrogant for wearing earrings.
Now that's arrogant.
1Sa 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

Hugs
Amen!

It was meant to insult and be offensive to get a rise out of people.
Mostly women.
Because not many men care if women wear jewelry or not.
It was a direct insult to and for women.
And that kind of thinking can stay over in the middle east.
We won't have sharia law here.
I won't wear a covid mask, I'm surely not wearing a burka.
Unless I choose to. Not because someone says I have to.
That don't work here in the USA.
We live in the God given land of Liberty.

I suspect in the coming future we're going to be seeing a lot more of this.
Cultures are going to begin clashing. Between the southern border and people being flown in from Afghanistan..
It's going to be different.
And I don't have a problem with people having their cultures, Just don't try to force them on other people.
People want to change, that's their business.

Jesus never forced anyone to accept Him.
He just gave an invitation, it's up to the individual to accept it or not.

Thems my thoughts.
Hugs
Some good thoughts there. Give God the glory!

Now regarding the heart burn; perhaps the guys on the road to Emmaus ....after they met Jesus needed cider vinegar...whadya thunk?
They didn't need that kind of medicine.. lol
I was thinking about a little wine for the stomach sake..
is wine acidic?
Heartburn = acid reflux Cider vinegar = acidic.
If you don't have enough acidity in your stomach to break things down, it has a tendency to rise up.
So you fight acidity with acidity.
They (doctors) recommend alkalining your stomach to relive acidity, but that's why the problem began in the first place.
Your too alkaline.
Like a fish tank..
we all need a good alkaline/acidic balance :)
Hugs

Gosh.... this is yet another sin to add to my list... LOL

Is this really an issue with anyone?? Is this from the same people who state women have to wear dresses and have long hair??

I think this is a distraction from the real meat of the Word of God. The best finger pointed is back to yourself and asking God to search you inside out and purify you. The New Covenant is so much better then the Old covenant. Legalities are so easy to get caught up in.

1 Timothy 2:9, "I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, ir costly array."

It is impossible for a woman to wear fancy little earrings without first fixing her hair in an attempt to feel adorned. This desire to feel adorned is the work of the Enemy, who is the father of all lies, who convinced gullible Evening the Garden she should think about improving herself, and attaining what seemed good, rather than undertaking God's expressed will.

Isaiah ch. 3 gives a long description God's determination upon female vanity in the Hebrew women going into The Captivity Judgement. This description of vanity centers around women who unashamedly, rather than being in shamefacedness, display themselves for the Godless purpose of calling attention to their outward appearance, rather than displaying the Works of God.

1 Tim. 2:10, "But (which becometh women professing Godliness) with good works."

Neither Eve in the Garden thinking of her own efforts to have self aggrandizement, nor today's gullible women thinking to "highlight my eyes" with earrings, are thereby pursuing good the good works commanded in 1 Timothy ch. 2.

They even take pride and satisfaction in doing so, and chat with each other about how to elevate their appearances.
If godly and righteous women didn't take care with their appearance it would be dishonouring to God and also men would not want them.

I take the OC legalities and apply the NC spiritual keys to them,
and it all falls into place.
Problem with the OC is, they didn't have the keys to spiritual understanding.
They had no faith. They only believed in what they saw. They had no hope other than what they could make with their own hands.
Thus they made themselves gods to bow down and worship, the works of their own hands.
And the law became the word to them, but they could not hear it.
Old Testament is good. New Testament is good.
You need to apply the new to the old in order to see past the brick and mortar.
:)

I think this sort of attitude to women is too much like the Taliban.

I understand what your TRYING to say,
it's just not being appoached in a respectful manner.
There is nothing wrong with earrings or people that wear earrings.
If there is a problem, it's not a physical problem it's a heart problem.
I honestly believe Paul is talking about women who adorn themselves for the purpose of attracting men.
Let's say prostitute. They are looking for physical attraction. Not necessarily at home.

But if a woman wants to make herself look nice for her husband or boyfriend, I don't see a problem.
I don't think Paul had a problem, but alas, he's dead and I can't ask him.

What I can do is ask the Lord, how you feel about women wearing earrings?
This is what the Lord says:
Eze 16:8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.
Eze 16:9 Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.
Eze 16:10 I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers' skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.
Eze 16:11 I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.
Eze 16:12 And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.
Eze 16:13 Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.
Eze 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.

It's what happened after that I believe Paul is warning about...

Eze 16:15 But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.
Eze 16:16 And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.
Eze 16:17 Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,
Eze 16:18 And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.
Eze 16:19 My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD.

1Ti 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1Ti 2:10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

It's not the fact that a woman wears anything whether it be nice clothes, or jewelry, or perfume.
It's, having trust in those things beauty, instead of ones own inner beauty.

So yeah, I agree to some extent what your saying, but your not seeing the whole picture.
Your just judging according to appearences on the outside, when you should be looking at the heart.

Awesome verses Ziggy, it all comes down to "motive" IMHO. No need to get extravagant so as to attract attention to ourselves "outer" appearance, especially in order to attract men like, yes, prostitutes.

I used to have rings on every finger, bracelets like Janis Joplin! And 5 ear piercings and yes, I did do that to ATTRACT attention back then, get all dolled up to go out in the debauched world and party, party, party! WHAT a horrid waste :( Now, I wear no jewelry and VERY little makeup where one could hardly tell I have it on! Not that I have anything at all against jewelry, just in a different place and am NOT trying to attract anyone at all BUT Christ

So...any of you women like peeling grapes? Lol
How about de-seeding concord grapes...WHAT a delicious pie they make!!! And, I'm not much of a pie person but, a friend made this once and it was out of this world. She hadn't quite perfected the de-seeding though, there were still a few in there, lol.
And, she is now with the Lord and had not an arrogant bone in her body...she wore small earrings too :D

I know!!! I had never heard of a grape pie till my friend made it. It did not sound appetizing when she told me but, whoa, it was awesome, dark purple and just the best pie I have ever in my life had! And yes, they are the dark ones that have those small seeds and kind of a greenish meat inside. Just awesome!

Well... I'm going to put on my earrings and research this mysterious pie that I cannot even wrap my brain around.

In truth.... I must confess... I don't OWN any earrings. LOL

But this subject to me is one of legalism... and is usually tied in with the good old tattoo debate...
