From the scathing first one . . .

1 Corinthians 1:4-9 KJV
4) I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
5) That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
6) Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
7) So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
8) Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9) God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Which always reminds me,

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 KJV
23) And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24) Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Much love!

Not everyone had the Spirit. Paul even says I wish you all spoke in tongues. Mark 16:16-18 says that those who believe and are baptized these signs will follow them. And in the first century before all this Cessationist unbelief came into the Church, all who had the Spirit were gifted in all the individual gifts of Mark. And praise God the belief has come back full force into the Church to prepare the Bride to be without spot or blemish. But in Corinth there were some problem people that were in there and the leadership was not dealing with them.

1 Corinthians 5:11
11 But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person.

I was in church for 30 years before I became a true Christian.

It is still unmerited favor. We do nothing to nothing to deserve it. We are justified by the blood of Christ. We did nothing--He paid for us. Then we become a new creature. 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" We want to do His will because we love Him.

Then comes the other part--sanctification.. It goes on and on for us. When we walk in the light we have, He gives more light. I have heard it said that it is the work of a lifetime.

You bring up the commandments. It is not just a keeping of the Law. Jesus told us "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."Matt 22:37-39 (Both of these things are found in the OT, BTW Lev 19:18 and Deut 6:5)

Romans 13:10 “Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” Love does fulfill the Law.

We all know that you should not steal--it's not right. And a lot of folk don't steal because they could get into a lot of trouble. But when we come to Christ, we don't want to steal out of love for our neighbor. Or we don't want to have another god before God, or take His name in vain--because we love Him. This is the new creature

It is the reason why we keep the Law that determines if it is because of our relationship with Jesus, or just the keeping 10 Commandments without love which is no more than tinkling brass.

.

It is favor. It is only unmerited favor when Jesus died for us while we were YET sinners.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new"

How did we get in Christ? Through the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
And how did we receive the Holy Spirit? Through repentance and honesty of heart.

And what does sanctification do for us? Is it to overcome sin or what, you didn't say? I've got news for you. We are sanctified when we are justified. This erroneous teaching of sanctification as a life long process is a common error and part of the doctrine of demons that we will always sin while we are in these bodies. Jesus has already taken away our sin, and in Him there is no sin. 1 John 3:5, so sanctification is not to overcome sin. Jesus does that. What we as sinless Christians are in the process of now is to become exactly like Christ, and those steps are in 2 Peter 1:5-7. It is called glorification. Romans 8:29-30, and your 2 Corinthians 5:17. Our nature is glorified now, and our body after we die and are resurrected in a immortal body. Read 1 John 3 the whole chapter.

@Cassandra

"All of grace, yes, grace surpassing,
Such a portion to bestow,
But the love, all knowledge passing,
Grace has taught us now to know.

Love that bore the stripes and sorrow,
Love that suffered on the Tree,
Love that shares the bright tomorrow,
With the loved ones, you and me."

Sorry, but from what you just said you believe, "we as human beings in this Earth will always have humanly desires," goes along with one of the doctrines of demons commonly taught. A doctrine of demons teaches you the opposite of what Christ taught. John 8:32-36; 1 John 3:4-9; 1 John 5:18. Jesus gives us His Spirit in order to become dead to sin, Romans 6:1-2 and 7; And Romans 8:1-9, especially verse 9. It is the Spirit that makes us born again with a DIVINE NATURE, not the old human nature that is so prone to sin.

I'm heterosexual and my natural human desire was to fornicate and commit adultery. In fact, I was in the middle of an affair with a married atheist Jew when after 30 years of going to church, I wanted to stop sinning and couldn't. I loved my sin too much. But I tried. I would break up with him, but it would only last 3 days, and I wanted him back. This went on month after month but only lasting three days. Finally, I just got absolutely honest with God and told Him that He was stronger than I obviously was, so for Him to intervene and make him break up with me, and then give him the strength to stay away from me when I would try to get him back. One week later, my lover came over and broke up with me. It was the first prayer in my entire life that had been answered. The whole story is in my testimony, but 2 weeks later I was born again and filled with God's Spirit. For 30 years I never had Him inside me; He only drew me from the outside - forever learning, but never coming to a knowledge of the truth until He gave me the mind of Christ. I literally felt a heaviness lift out of me - it was the old carnal human nature. I now had a spiritual nature, and from then on I was strong spiritually. I had the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit of God in me. I was born again.
I’m faithful and never had the desire to cheat on my former wife and now my girlfriend, sorry to say but that’s low, I have obstained from sex, so I don’t follow demon doctrines like you did, nor do I believe in demon doctrines, only in God almighty and our Savior Jesus Christ, so don’t compare me to yourself.

I wasn't saved for the first 30 years of going to church. All I'm saying is that being heterosexual as you seemed to brag about doesn't prevent us from sinning our heads off. LOL I was no better in the eyes of God than a homosexual, except that my desires were normal, but still very carnal, and carnality is what matters. I'm glad to hear you are chaste. So am I. It's been 20 years and my husband is still the last man I kissed. He's married to his mistress, living a life of perpetual adultery, and I still wear my rings, never acknowledged the divorce because I did nothing to cause him to get the divorce, so he divorced me without cause, so we're still married. But now I don't think of Him but my real Husband, Isaiah 54:5

Don’t compare homos to heterosexuals, and yeah I’m proud of being straight and detest all that homo, transgender, bisexual deviant filth and believe in the book of Leviticus, it says in the Bible that a man that sleepeth with another man as he does a woman may he be put to death and the blood of his own head be put on his own hands and the same goes for a woman, and I believe that with all my heart, that’s goes for all the other filth as transgenders and people who commit bestiality, unless they repent and and beg forgiveness and stop the act of sin, they should be put to death, so yeah I’m proud I’m straight the way God made me.

A man and a woman who commit adultery together were also put to death.

I praise God that I'm straight. But I do know gays, both men and women who are Christians who abstain and are just as pure as you are. And who knows, maybe even purer in character. You are sounding like the parable of the Pharisee and the publican. Guess which one you sound like.

Why are so many Christians still stuck in the old laws?

hope you do nothing and dont walk too far on Sundays …or wear mixed clothing…..and perform every single one of the old laws …for he who breaks ONE breaks them ALL!

Why on earth did Jesus come, live , walk, and die , if we are still under the old law!

Come on people, get a grip of The Good News that Jesus came and paid for!

Amen! So many are saying, "my way or the highway" instead of very simply following the way of that publican:

"Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.| Luke 18:10-14

And where then are we with our bickering and strife?
Shut my mouth?

"Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further." Job 40:3-5

We were talking about the old laws. They were our schoolmaster and the point was how does God view sin. When you see the severity, you can appreciate what Christ did in taking away the desire to break even those old laws.

Of course not; we're siblings in Christ. I just always want to see things from God's point of view. Major sin is major sin in God's eyes, and sexual sin is major, whether homosexual or heterosexual.

LOL I hate the modern day definition and liberal lifestyle of some of those who believe in OSAS. I don't believe in that doctrine at all. BUT, I do believe in ASSURANCE where the Bible puts the responsibility on me. 2 Peter 1:5-11; 1 John 3:21-24. So Davy, don't worry about me; I haven't lost my way.

Apostle Paul told those in the Church to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). That means to be aware... of what sin is, and when we fall to it, and repent to Christ. The OSAS is against doing that, which is why it is a doctrine of demons.

Yes. We are not somebody, but are nobody. To not acknowledge that demonstrate arrogance in its max form.

We are, all fallen mankind, at the mercy of God, even from the womb. It is but in the grace of God, that one is saved, according to the counsel of His will.

We are nobody. We are mere creatures, fallen even.

“Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”

Are you assuming we will "fall to it"? I don't. Why sin when you don't have to?
