Could you explain a little more? It is interesting about the ark, but not sure what you mean.

Thank y'all for sharing/for y'all's input.
Being different from the world is your thread title, so there is a comparison to be made between carrying the Ark of the Covenant the world's way on a new cart knocked together with planks attached to an axle and wheels, or God's Way, on the shoulders of those set apart from the world and commissioned to walk in unity.

When Christians walk in the council of the ungodly. and look to the world's ways to do God's Work they are moving in the flesh. The story of Uzzah is an analogy of this.

Absolutely! And God always helps lead us in the right direction, even if it takes time.

For whatever reason, I feel like I'm being led to go mess around on Pinterest for a little bit. Who knows what I'll discover.

You guys have a great night!
@FluffyYellowDuck I like George Doane's hymn:

  1. Thou art the way: to Thee alone
    From sin and death we flee;
    And he who would the Father seek
    Must seek Him, Lord, by Thee.
  2. Thou art the truth: Thy Word alone
    True wisdom can impart;
    Thou only canst inform the mind,
    And purify the heart.
  3. Thou art the life: the rending tomb
    Proclaims Thy conqu’ring arm,
    And those who put their trust in Thee
    Not death nor hell shall harm.
  4. Thou art the way, the truth, the life;
    Grant us that way to know,
    That truth to keep, that life to win,
    Whose joys eternal flow. Thou Art the Way > Lyrics | George W. Doane

Wow that is awesome.

i just find it hilarious cause that's what exactly most of the trends forum contents here about it's about debating i put hahaha for me to avoid lying to myself or to people

Oh okay. I thought about it later with the verses you posted, because I agree. I think vain arguments for the sake of debate should be closed. That would be weighty to decide though.

I think a lot of us would change our attitude if we were aware that the world watches us. Nonbelievers ought to see something different about us! They are to know we are Christians by our love for one another!

Love isn't always "nice" but it is patient and kind.

Responding in love, especially when someone is hateful, requires a level of spiritual maturity and fruit that is not always seen but Ive seen it done on here.

Jesus is watching. That should always make us pause. We should, at times, pray before giving a response to some things.

Yes, the early church had to deal with divisions, and the problem persists. We shouldn't become pessimistic though. The ignore function is a blessing online and conflict avoidance is possible offline, although I must admit my patience does get sorely tested sometimes.

A commitment to abide in Christ is keeping me in good stead, I believe.

Joh 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

@FluffyYellowDuck We can encourage each other indeed to keep looking up (Hebrews 12.2)... :)
Wynona's thread was very edifying the other day...and it brought some people closer after wards...
This is the kind of threads we need to have going and keep them at the forefront... don't let those other negative threads consume the thread section that everyone sees first and clicks on...the section right under the list of members online.

I do like Acts 2.42, the activities of which can indeed be practised separately before God in each different locality where Christians meet. :)

I agree with that too. I see grumblings about the negative things more then the actual things said, because I don't read debates often. And this isn't meant to be a grumbling either. This was something God laid on my heart when thinking about transformation and not being like the world.

Hi @Mayflower Spending time meditating on Scripture does take our minds out of other frames of mind that may otherwise come upon us; I'm reminded of 1 Timothy 4.15-16:

"Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee."

These verses go along well here I think:

1 Timothy 4:12-13 -12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
