The Bible talks of Clouds.
Does anyone want to shine a light on the true meanings of each different type.
As most people have no idea.
I take it that people are that blind that they can't comprehend the position of what the OT Jews are on about at all.
As a lot of today's peoples understanding is just so stupid.

I am aware of seeing many things with an altered perception - so I would like to learn more, please.

And I don't mean I see turtles in the clouds either!

I have seen the forces (of good and evil) battling ---legions of angels with
shields and swords...and you thought I was just a pretty face...

Hi

let me give this a try the word Clouds is used 49 times in scripture (KJV)

however there are several differnt hebrew and greek words used that the english translates as clouds

each one has a slightly differnt meaning. The english does verily well in its general description by using adjectives.

These slightly differnt meaning can further explain and teach Gods intent in a given verse, so one who wants deeper understanding should use a concordance.

I wont cover them all but will give you some examples

Deu 4:11 And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.

Cloud in this verse means 1) cloud, cloudy, cloud-mass... but it comes from the root word means
soothsayer , bring , sorceress , enchanter

So we see in this verse a mass of clouds but associated with dark/evil

Jdg 5:4 LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.

Now in this verse a differnt word is used for cloud it means ..dark clouds, thick...from a root word meaning ..
cover with a cloud

So we can see this can be a thick covering of clouds ..this word is most often used when we are talking weather conditions

Job 35:5 Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds [which] are higher than thou.

the word used for clouds here refers to more to thin clouds ... its often translated either
cloud , sky , heaven , small dust

Rev 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they [also] which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Now in this verse the word means

1) a cloud

a) used of the cloud which led the Israelites in the wilderness

it comes from the root word meaning

a cloud, a large dense multitude, a throng or

a) used to denote a great shapeless collection of vapour obscuring the heavens as opposed to a particular and definite masses of vapour with some form or shape

This is just an example there are several other words used for cloud/clouds ..One can go to a site like http://www.blueletterbible.org/search/translationResults.cfm?criteria=clouds&page=2&sstr=1&t=KJV

click on the little number next to clouds and get the word used and the meaning in each verse

hahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahha

Do you really consider people stupid if they don't understand Jewish symbolic meanings of clouds?

Did i say that ?
I see their understanding of them clouds is a joke.
No wonder the fair dinkum Jews think Christians are just idiots and just dismiss us all..as just goy.

Socialist think they are the new church and they reject the Bible totaly and they think they are going to make this world a better place. as they can not make heads or tails out of the Bible they think it was written by lesser evolved apes living in caves.
Now socialist can be very smart people but wise they are not so me thinks.
I get attacked by them lot, all the time and they use things like Clouds ect to there advantage and come up with all types of things that degrade anything in the Bible as just all a load of nonsense.

So i thought i would bring up one thing like Clouds with you lot and see how you go with it.

Yoda does talk the way we should do as so, i do think.

I have found my self having to read 'some' books bit by bit from the back and then to the beginning or i will get bored because it's so frustrating, as its like blar blar blar and going no where and i am like get to the point ! first then go on about it. just like books to do with the laws ect that they can end up contradict each other.

The Bible looks at first to be written in a stupid crazy way but as you become more familiar with it then it all makes perfect sense as you could not wright it any other way. as the spiritual point would be lost. and it would become just a load of nonsense.

Maybe it's in the way we are taught how to read and speak that we can some how miss the point of others writing's as to what they are really on about. just like the interpretation from the people who wrote the books of the Bible.

So when Clouds or Rock, Water ect are mentioned it just means basically zip in today's culture.

Does that help.

What's the big deal about clouds? Why is it important for the Jews you know to understand them?

Living in Oklahoma we learn to read clouds to save our lives...........

Its important for all to know, as it could be a key to save peoples souls.

I thought others would of known that it was a vehicle of Gods presence and that intelligence and wisdom are represented by it.

It's a Glory.

Truth appears before the eyes as a bright Cloud.

The Cloud was speaking.

I'm sorry. I still don't understand.

But, now that you mention this "vehicle of God's presence". Aren't we the "vehicle" now? Didn't God give us His Spirit? Maybe some of us as Christians don't look for God to show up in anything but peoples hearts.

To me seeing things like clouds or reading about them are evidence of God not so much as something God uses to "show up".

Intelligence is a subjective term and in salvation terms is not of much value. Wisdom is something that only comes from God's teachings and we are taught by the Holy Spirit who "brings us to all truth".

With all due respect, maybe the Jews are still looking for God in ways He doesn't manifest Himself anymore.

"I've seen clouds from both sides now"..whatever that means..never did get the lyrics to that song.

Being outdoors a lot over the years..(over 70) I have seen many cloud formations which took a certain shape and made me think of something. I won't say these formations were not some kind of comfort, confronting, or inspiration from, excuse the expression.."above." However, other things have to line up in my life before I jump to the conclusion that these are signs for me and are supposed to give me some kind of direction. I just love looking at them whether they take shape or not. And having once helped my husband run a BLM fire guard station we had to learn to read the clouds weatherwise. Still use this training to this day..especially for pending storms. So their meaning for me is not necessarily spiritual..

"Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." - 1 Thess 4:17

-- Yes, there are different interpretations to the meaning of 'clouds' in scripture. I am curious as to the "cloud" interpretation in this scripture, especially joined with "to meet the Lord in the air."

I've heard this one interpreted as Clouds means many people.

-- I have heard that, as well.
I am waiting for someone to come up with (and support) the idea that "In the air" means something else, as well.

That would be interesting.

I know what I think it is. I'll be looking forward to this one too.

Clouds is in the Glory's and to meet in the Lord in the air is the Spirit.
Then we which are alive in (Christ) and remain shall be caught up together with them in the (presence of the) Glory's, to meet the Lord in the (all the Glory's of the) Spirit.
