Been reading.
Guess you're not kidding.
There's really no need to bring fraudulent Santa Claus into celebrating the birth of Christ. In fact the Bible does not show us that the early Christians observed this day. And had they observed it, it would have been in early September. But now that December 25 has been established, Christians can still focus on the tremendous significance of birth of Christ.

Of course I agree.
But can't the little ones have some fun?
Don't you think it's useless to remove Santa from Christmas IF the parents are atheist anyway?
I think the parents have an effect on their children.
I see that another poster is very upset over this....
I just don't think kids equate Santa with Jesus (kids with Christian families).

This is silly. Santa Claus is fiction. Jack and Bean Stalk is fiction, Micky Mouse is fiction along with the tooth fiery and many other fictional characters created for children. Who worships Santa Claus? I guess I would not be surprised that there is someone out there that does, Micky Mouse too. I've never associated Santa Claus with the birth of Jesus. They are two separate things on the same day in my mind and always have been.

When my wife was being treated for breast cancer, one of her friends sent her an animated Santa Claus doll for Christmas. It would sing and dance to "Sleigh Ride" - and every couple of stanzas, it would stop and let out a loud fart. She took it with her to the chemo infusion room. It was good to hear laughter echoing around the Oncology department.

December 25th itself is a pagan holiday, the day Tammuz was born on the winter solstice which on the ancient pagan calander is December 25th, the reborn Nimrod as the child sun God of Semiramis who was the mother and wife of Nimrod. Hence that's where Lent comes from the 40 days of weeping for Tammuz and where the Cross came to be incorporated as a Christian symbol which is the t in Tammuz's name, just as many Christian and Christmas symbols that are pagan in nature were incorporated into Christianity without many even knowing its origins.
I have read recently that the "cross" of ashes for many on "Ash Wednesday" is not a cross at all, like most who get them believe but, represents a "T" for Tammuz...

It's possible Nancy, I haven't gotten the ashes on my forehead in years, even when I was a practicing Catholic, because I'd be at work and couldn't just leave work to get the ashes spread on my forehead, but for the 40 days of Lent I only ate fish as you couldn't eat meat, so that I always did, before I came to my senses. Yes the t for Tammuz is also the reason why Constantine incorporated it into the Christian faith, it has nothing to do with Christ being crucified on a cross.

Okie dokie. Trump is king. The election was stolen and the vaccines are killing billions of people.
@GaryAnderson What does my post about St. Valentine's day have to do with President Donald Trump? But you are correct the election was stolen from him and the vaccines are killing a lot of people or seriously injuring them. AT LEAST YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!

Hi JohnPaul,
I too was born and raised Catholic. Of course we all thought it was a representation of Jesus cross, yet still never understood all of the ritualistic words that came with it...cannot even remember if they were Latin or English. So much hidden that we do not see or understand, glad God does. Merry Christmas brother.

To be honest Nancy my RCC gave mass in two languages English and Italian, Italian language mass was at 10:00am and the English one I believe was at 11:00am so my parents would send me to the Italian mass as it was earlier sometimes I’d go to the English mass, but I could never understand why they would send me to a foreign language mass where I would never understand what the Priest was sayin, I guess my parents figured as long as I went to mass I’d be saved regardless whether I understood or not.

Oh wow, Ours was a mixture of Latin and English but again, never understood what was being said...especially since us 3 older ones started skipping it...we'd go in and grab one of that days pamphlets and go hang at a plaza across the street. Once they started filing out, we would then start walking home. We hated going as it was so very boring, mom had 7 of us, close together so she couldn't handle all of us at once in church, so it was just us 3 who were made to go.

I live in a heavy populated Italian community and lived right across the street from the Italian RCC Church, so my parents sent us there.

It is extremely likely that the Ash Wednesday cross represents Tammuz. Tammuz was a pagan fertility god in the Mesopotamian area, and the cross was typically used as a phallic symbol. There's also the matter that Ash Wednesday perfectly coincides with the time of year that Tammuz worshipers celebrated his resurrection in the beginning of the spring season. That should sound familiar since it's also the time of year and reason Orthodox Christianity celebrates Easter.

But can't the little ones have some fun?
Sure. You can tell the little ones that it is because God blessed Daddy and Mommy that they are receiving presents. So the presents are from Jesus, not from Santa. You can at the same time tell them that Santa is just imaginary -- he does not really exist anywhere, certainly not at the North Pole!

Growing up as a Catholic, we did it all up like the rest, the decorated tree (Jeremiah 10 , tell me you don't see the modern Christmas tree in all that) the food, OH the food...my grandmother came from Northern Italy and cooked up a storm, many awesome dishes. We knew eventually that there was no real "Santa" as with 7 of us, we would eventually find the presents hidden... but still...we did not have any idea that everything we were doing was promoting material things and paganist practices.

It's a tough one. It was VERY confusing as a child learning about Santa and Jesus too. Not to mention the big-bang theories we a learned in school and the creation we are taught in Christ and the word of God. Boy, people really have to seek Him to find Him...with ALL their heart. He IS a rewarder of them who diligently seek Him.

Yes, this is a tough one.

Were these people Christian? Especially the Law-Giver?
Some will say that they are, I do not know about her tho, I think not.

My Brother claimed she was a stalker and she just latched on to him. then claimed the Law that living with one for 6 months she can take him for half. I do not bother to talk to her much at all. she comes from NZ, I do not even know why she came hear. maybe was kicked out, I guess from a hideous story she told me that she was involved with that they killed a man. just yuck !

Hi Nancy. Hope you had a joyful Christmas

Its too confusing for a child i think... Santa takes the focus and glory away from God. His like a false idol.
Then there is the whole thing of lying to a child who we are trying to teach not to lie. Such hypocrisy.

I can't see why we have to lie to them. Surely we can bring them joy without lying. True?
