Hey Aspen, I truly like you and I think you have a good spirit. And no, overall I don't like Benny Hinn and what you have told me about him only enrages me more. Benny ain't no saint. Like I said, "Say what you will about him but here he is right on!" By all accounts Joel Osteen is a descent human being. I don't have a problem with him in an earthly sense. But look at what you just said, as I've quoted you above. "Olsteen my deny his god?????" Yea, Hinn's a hypocrite, but at least he didn't deny Jesus. Joel did! I got a problem with that and I think God does too.
Let me remind of you of this story.... There were two brothers. The firstborn was daddy's favorite. A man's man! A hunter, and a rugged man. His dad favored him. The second born (and they were twins, but there is still one who came out first), was a momma's boy, a liar and a surplanter. While his brother was out hunting for food and defending the family from heathen and wild beasts, the youngest son was hanging on to momma's skirt. he was helping in the kitchen, helping clean the house, etc.... Honorable work... But he should've been out helping his brother hunt and bring in the food.
Stuff happened and in the end, the second born lied to his daddy and stole from the firstborn. But the firstborn also sold his birthrite. Now you know whom I'm talking about... Jacob and Esau. The only fault Esau had was denying his birthrite. I liken that to what Joel Osteen has done. He denied Jesus. Larry King asked him, "Is Jesus the only way?" And Joel said, "That's up to God."
Benny might be a hypocrite and a liar... But at least on this occasion he didn't deny the name of Jesus. Joel did. Which one looks like Esau and which one looks like Jacob?
