Most people on this forum have never even heard of our confessions let alone read them.

You asked me what is my doctrine..

The Resurrection of Christ

1Co 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

1Co 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

1Co 15:5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

1Co 15:6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

1Co 15:7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

1Co 15:8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

All about Christ, Him crucified, Him resurrected and the why Jesus did it.
it is not about me, nothing of Johann, nothing of self, all about Christ who died on that cross for YOU

I'll take Jesus and not man made creeds and confessions brother.
Deep down on the inside you know I am speaking the truth, as it stands written in the Scriptures.

Barn' and I don't hold to -isms

We praise God that we am not under divine obligation to
follow either Calvinism or Arminianism. It smacks of
Corinthian carnality: “For while one saith, I am of Calvin;
and another, I am of Arminius; are ye not carnal?”
J.

I am not either. but I am aware that people use those terms to define certain beliefs, so I use them to simplify8 matters.

I have several teachers I listen to well, glean from others, but always search the scriptures to see if they are true or not.

See I believe the bible shows what are called the five points of calvinism as opposed to the five points of Armenius.

I believe dispensational theology does less harm to Scripture than Covenant theology.

I believe in literalism vs. allegorism.

These are all man made terms that define how a person approaches Scripture. but Scripture is generally the focal point .

Maybe God isn't keen on being stuffed into a 5-point box?

Maybe the Bible is really all about something different, entirely.

Like...

Jesus?

Just a thought

Well preachers and teachers in addressing specific subjects weill preach on two, three, five, ten points or whatever! Calvinists made up five points to refute the five points of Armenius! The bible is about a lot of stuff! But when you pick a topic, you can usually8 define a specific number of key points.

And yes Jesus is the main point of Scripture! But He also told us truths we need to make sure we understand, truths to live by and as Jude says we must contend for teh faith!

If Jesus was the focal point and He is all that matters, then most of Paul's writings are irrelevant for they talk about living as followers and not about Jesus!

Confusion is from Satan..and he is not my god

1Co_14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Jas_3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

J.

and yet, you didnt answer my question. Not that i thought you would.

See if you can find Chevrolet in the bible.
Ludicrous. I didn't refer to "Chevrolet" regarding theology.
Well there is no road between eternal security and you can lose your salvation.
Not a very nuanced view. The Bible has 3/4 million words in it, you know.
Nor free will and divine election.
It's all born of an "us-and-them attitude."
Nor limited vs. unlimited atonement.
More doubtful disputation.

I know people love their opinions so much that they see them as "facts."

...and that all-or-nothing thinking is very en vogue.

Been there, done that, slipped into a coma out of boredom...

Teach me something about Jesus and the Gospel.

That's all I want.

I'd much rather study a real, live Tulip than listen to a talking head rave about Wesley or Spurgeon or both. Great men of God, to be sure, but they wouldn't sanction what's being done in their names, and I think most people actually know that.
