Yeah, dying is always on the cards.... any beat of the heart. The more I factor that in the less I stress.

True enough but if we can live longer we can still share and have relationship with people and share Christ before death.

What’s Ring?
It's a security doorbell camera and people can talk to you on it when you're not home through an app like if delivery man or someone wants to know something.

It comes up like this.

(Of course I don't get service in the backroom at work but my mom will probably use my apartment while I'm at work, so she can.)

I'm staying with family for a couple weeks and there is a guy that just keeps breaking in and leaving.

And this is the second time he broke in while I was here alone with my youngest, except this time I didn't notice it until they let me know the door was totally messed up. He isn't taking anything, so I don't understand what the heck he is doing.

Bad part: It's HIS old apartment that I'm taking over that he's being evicted from so I'm really getting nervous about moving in.

I'd rather he just be totally gone so I don't need to worry about it.

Landlords will be here and see it tomorrow.

I pray your situation ends in peace and safety.

I should explain that- it's an apartment complex. I'm staying with a friend in another apartment here until my place is ready, because he hasn't left yet.

The first time I heard someone slam the door shut and yesterday, I was wearing headphones,

My mom has an air horn and some bear spray. Lol I may get something, probably not a gun with the kids here. I thought about cast iron skillet. I need one for cooking and I wouldn't want one thrown at me.

I might bring it up to my supervisor at work, because the guy broke his windshield, so he knows him, and if the guys at work know, I'll feel safer.

Apparently he hears voices and listens to them. The first time he broke in while I was alone, my laptop and my tablet were in plain sight and he didn't touch it. At all.

Just runs in and back out.

If anyone knows how this was done I'd like to know, the whole door frame on that side is bent like a bow.

How is simple. If the dead bolt was locked. Examine it. The bolt is likely 1 inch long, passing into a striker plate, that is about 1/16 inch thick, and the bolt continues into hollowed out wood, that a hefty 12 yr old could kick or pressure force open. And a Chain lock is secured by small screws, easily force opened with a good push.

The door Should be solid, (not a hollow core door).
Can’t suggest any prevention from a burglar while you are away, but while you are at home, there are “door jam pole locks”.
That is a pole looking thing that sits against the floor slanted toward the door handle. At the top of the pole is a fitting that cups your door handle and prevents the door from being opened from the outside.

Sort of a more modern version of tipping a chair back under the door handle, preventing the door from opening.

Lord, help Lady to either find a new apartment, a house to live in, or for the break-ins to stop. Lord, surround her and her youngest with your holy angels, to protect her today, tonight, tomorrow and in the future, in every way from harm, her apartment from break-ins, and from any fear, because perfect love drives out all fear...in the name of Jesus, Amen.

How are things @LadyofFireandLace. Hope you are well and prayers are being answered.
Hi! Thanks for asking. Sorry for the delay, I was so busy today and probably will be all week.

So far not anything (that I know of) has happened. I think he is supposed to be out pretty quickly so I can take over.

It's been pretty uneventful and I really hope it stays that way!:D
