I am 66 and when I was a kid, I watched violent movies, cops and robbers, cowboys and Indians, wars, but I did not interact/participate in them. It wasn't me doing the killing. Today, they are killing people fir fun.

Mental illness that leads to murder is behavioral. Criminals get off pleading mental illness or insanity as if it was not their fault. I don't agree with these laws. One is mentally disturbed/sick, who murders others. The twinkie defense can't work, nor should any said biological excuse be made. Murder is murder. Shall we just charge normal responsible people only. Wasn't Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy just normal, responsible neighbors who had a job and a friendly smile? It is a spiritual war inside they have been defeated by more than a biological one.

Well, in case you missed it, I'll explain the significance of the no-go zones in London. Those who advocate for gun control, claim that average citizens have no reason to protect themselves because that is now the role of the police. But what happens, as in the case of Portland Oregon, when the police "stand down" and watch while innocent citizens are harmed and personal property is destroyed?

Or do you care?

Biden and his son are child molesters and they are both traitors to this country....and they all give a thumb's up for murdering 600,000 babies a year....

Simple, the parents, like I did with my own kids, teach them the difference between make believe and reality. A game like CoD is make believe, no matter how historically accurate it may or may not be. You teach them that real guns kill real people. That a real gun is no toy and it is not a play thing as I did with my own children. You teach them to respect firearms and the damage that they do. You teach them murder is wrong. That mass shootings are wrong.

It's not hard to teach kids these things as I have taught my own.

I will admit that there is the odd duck where none of this matters. They have mental instability and it doesn't matter how much you do what I said above, they are still mentally disturbed. Most kids aren't like this though. You have to know your kid.

I am of the very strong opinion that my Protector is the Lord God THE ALMIGHTY.

So theres 2 issues concerning the 2nd amendment as i see it.
1. Everytime there is some sort of mass shooting, gun sales skyrocket for a couple of weeks. Why? Because everyone knows the govt wants to ban sporting rifles. Do you really believe the people who buy those guns would just happily give those guns up just because big govt said so? No, they wont.

2. the purpose of the 2nd amendment comes down to self defense, even against our own govt. clearly our ancestors had no problem killing tyrannical leaders. Yet in todays times, it seems people think the 2nd amendment is only about hunting. Im not sure what happened but it seems a portion of our society believe killing in the name of freedom is bad. Why? I have no idea, yet this seems to be where the disconnect comes from between the right and the left. Basically, our Founders believed that the end justifies the means. Do they? Your answer will determine which side of the fence you’re on, politically.

The US Constitution that allows for this is VERY WRONG!

Luk 22:36 And He (JESUS) said to them, "But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one. Jesus is telling them/you to sell the clothes off your back and buy a Sword and/or AR15...

Let's see this in action... and how Jesus deals with the issue!!!

Joh 18:10 Simon Peter then, having a sword, (as Jesus commanded) drew it and struck the high priest's slave, and cut off his right ear; and the slave's name was Malchus.

No different than saying Peter pulled out his AR15 and shot the Ear off Malchus!!!

Now.... what you don't truly understand is how that affected Malchus.... Depending on which Bible you read Malchus was a Servant or Slave of the high Priest... Think of it more as an willing Servant or Slave a person using this to advance their placement in life...

When Peter took off his man's ear.... His future was over!!! It would have been better for Peter to just stab him in the heart and far as Malchus was concerned! Because once Malchus's ear hit the ground... He was no longer allowed to serve in the Temple... AS... No deformed or non-perfect persons were allowed to serve in the Temple! Peter destroyed this man's life with out a killing blow!!!

Then, Jesus restored Malchus... Now note.... Malchus has been restored by the very Person His beloved master wants dead! The very same Jesus he came to capture for his death... Restored His life! Think of the internal conflict at that moment!!!

My bet is Malchus... became a Christian at Pentecost when the very Peter whom took off his ear preached at the Temple? But who knows???

If it was true like you say....

I'd just as soon have a society without offensive weapons of any kind. But people will always find a way to fashion one. And think the time for practical eradication of firearms, both politically and logistically, is long gone. I also think that, while regarding people's free speech, Christians could make much better use of their time than debating such matters, simply IMO, tho. I imagine somebody'll blow up now - lol.

I heard the newest Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson said it means that we have the Constitutional right to roll up our sleeves. I guess those crazy gun nuts have been distorting what it means all along. :p

If this is supposed to be funny it isn't. Clearly you wouldn't say this about a white person or a man. It's a sick, racist attempt at "humor".

I am disturbed a bit by your accusation that I am twisting something. Surely, those who are having a discussion about a fundamental reality of our existence have two ways to proceed. We can either embrace nuance and make important and significant distinctions, or we can talk in platitudes and generalities.

Our impression of Australia, given your current state of affairs is that the people fear the government and consequently, there is tyranny in Australia.

I agree with your first two points. Those are great points and a good solution. However, I do not agree with the video game aspect.

What can be linked is that those kids that do have higher aggression can and do play violent video games. I will agree with that, but it doesn't make kids more violent. If that were the case, we would have a lot more mass shootings than we do.
This "research" was done by this organization which, by it's own admission:

There is an immense, entertainment-driven, financial juggernaut behind the "science" of these newer studies. Someone is always finding some possibility of some flavor of bias tainting the results of even neutral findings.

But the truth is, sinful nature and genetics load the gun and environmental stimuli pull the trigger on aggression. There was a time when psychologists fully acknowledged this, but now most of them are absorbed in, and sympathetic to the entertainment culture, themselves.

By beholding, we become changed.


But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. (2 Corinthians 3:18)

When we, with unveiled face, behold as in a mirror the malignity of Satanic influences, we are transformed into the same image from malignity to malignity, just as by the spirits of devils.

Liberty is based in truth, not subterfuge.

Such secondary purposes for private ownership do not replace the primary purpose, which distinguishes a subject from a citizen.

Subjects fear their government. In a republic, God-given rights are recognized - such as the right to life and liberty and the right to protect that life and liberty to the death. Therefore, in such God-centered governments, government fears the citizenry.

There are 3 boxes upon which liberty stands against those who confuse being our servants with our masters.

Why do you find it necessary to twist words? The Declaration of Independence says, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." It does not say "the right to life and liberty and the right to protect that life and liberty to the death."

Liberty is based in truth, not lies and distortion!
