What should you be doing with your life?

What are you doing with your life?

Is there anything you're doing right now that you wish you weren't doing?

Is there anything you're not doing right now that you think you should be doing?

I think some believe that we should do nothing at all as it's all been done for us.
So you can do what ever you like as there is nothing you could possibly do to loose your salvation because you are going to heaven and that's a fact.
So i think the Devil is coming with us to as he must be saved to, as he believes and he even spoke to Jesus once so beat that ?

Yeah we should... but so far we've all failed... wouldn't you say?

Which does what... just makes us love Him more... because we who have been forgiven much loves much.

A lot of people interpret that as handing out licenses to sin... but they thought Paul was saying the same thing back in the day....

Remember what he said about it?

Romans 3:8
And why not say, “Let us do evil that good may come”?—as we are slanderously reported and as some affirm that we say.

Only we should not write off the possibility, knowing that all things are possible with Christ (and on what do we base that some did not attain?).

And we shouldn't use our faith to justify ourselves either. We do not yet know whether we will complete our race...

...Unless Paul just imagined all that stuff about a race, and not having attained, and not judging himself! ;)

All it says over and over is that we're justified by faith... and you're telling us not to believe that?

Even the race you keep talking about Prentis is about faith... haha

2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Do you realize how much false teachings you're filled with?

Context? [sup]6[/sup] For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.

Paul says that at the end of his life. The rest of the time he says 'endure', 'run the race', 'not as though I had already attained'.

We are justified by faith, but who does the justifying, God or you?

Paul said he didn't even judge himself. Did he not have faith? He did, but by Paul's faith, God would justify him. Not by Paul's faith, Paul would justify himself.

I am saying we shouldn't justify ourselves by our faith, but let God judge.

You're saying everything except the simplicity of what Paul said...

You're making the race about everything except what Paul said...

And you're making salvation about everything except what has been said since the beginning...

You accuse me of not listening to the scriptures... then you tell me not to believe I'm justified by faith... haha

Romans 5:1
[ Faith Triumphs in Trouble ] Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Galatians 2:16
knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

Galatians 3:11
But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.”

Galatians 3:24
Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

It sure isn't proclaiming you cannot come before God and proclaim your righteousness is because Christ died for you.

We'll talk more later...

When Jesus surveyed the first century churches he made certain judgements concerning their state before him. In Rev 3:17 you will see many Christians attended the Laodicean church who in their ignorance thought they had Christ (baptised) as their covering, but in fact did not.

If our nakedness can be seen of them we have no covering of righteousness!

Like the Western nations this church was wealthy and did not heed the warnings nor did they use their wealth to better serve God see 1 Tim. 6:17; 1 Tim. 6:9,10,11.

In fact they used it to indulge themselves. From this they came to lay undue emphasis on material possessions to the exclusion of the church in Laodicea; its attitude and boastfulness repeated the same sin as Israel see Hos 12:8!!!

Now speaking practically of our age (2011); do you believe there are those out there who find themselves in a similar environment?

Are there Christians who wholeheartedly believe they have salvation, but in fact are dead to Jesus Christ?

If we are blind to our true state before Christ what good is his cleansing blood, sacrifice and Gospel message?

If you all (Robbie, Pegg, Jiggy, Prentis and Ducky) are "wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked" but you don’t release this truth - - then you do not have Christ and it was he who said he was coming to his own, who would find us in this state in Rev 16:15, implying that all of us will answer to this terrible blindness.

Your conversations ought to be about "how can we avoid being without the covering of Jesus Christ, though we think we are covered" because all your puffed up talk about righteousness will be meaningless, if you cannot answer these questions.

What did Jesus suggest they buy instead? Rev 3:18 And how do you buy these items?

Lift your minds fellow students.

Insight, I think we are on the same page. The righteousness i speak of is that of love...the law of the Christ. To 'put on Christ' as Paul says in Galatians 3:27, we must learn to love in the way Christ loved us.

That is the righteousness I think of when Im talking about 'righteous acts'.... its not works of mosaic law, its the fruits of love and holy spirit that God looks for in individuals. I would never claim to be saved by my own self because I know that I am no where near the standard of Gods righteousness... .but that doesnt mean I cannot strive toward it. It doesnt mean that I have no choice but to live in sin... I can choose my own path. If I know what Gods standard is on a certain matter, I can maintain that standard for as long as I wish....the ability to obey or disobey is in my hands. Im well aware of that. And that doesnt mean i never fail because i do...but in all sincerity I know I can ask for forgiveness because the value of Christs blood is far greater then the sins I commit. I have full faith in that fact.

But that is not going to make me stop striving to live by Gods righteous standards.

Christ has NOT paid any price for your sins nor has he become your righteousness. What he has paid is what it cost him to perfect the Way you might be declared righteous by God. But that depends on you first obeying the one requirment God has for each man. A smoke toking beach bum always thinks he has a light bulb experience with his god when it is actually only smoke.

We are to seek to walk in His strength alone. Not doing what we want, but being led continually by the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 1:30
But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—

Philippians 3:9
and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

Jeremiah 33:16
In those days Judah will be saved, And Jerusalem will dwell safely. And this is the name by which she will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.’

Jeremiah 23:6
In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

1 Corinthians 15:3
For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

1 Peter 2:24
who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
