Who was God speaking to in Genesis when he said "Let us make man in our image" ?

Was it not The Word....the one who has been with him since the beginning of creation?
Let us, indicates the Father and the Son since the NT clearly says that Jesus is the Creator.

Colossians 1:16 (NKJV)
16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers.

Very well thank you.

I see both yourself and Ducky have been "busy" discussing the important relationship that exists between the Father and His Son.

gods? There are MANY false gods. Only one true God. Jesus.

Isaiah 9:6-7 (NKJV)
6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

El Gibbor. That is the word in hebrew translated as 'Mighty God'

Do you know that the hebrew scriptures apply El Shaddai only to the Creator.,... it is translated as 'Almighty God'

So even this verse does not prove that Jesus is Almighty God. Jesus is a Mighty God/ El Gibbor.... he is never called God Almighty/El Shaddai

Its all there back in genesis... "Let US make man in OUR image"

We all believe that Jesus was a man (Acts 2:22; 1Ti 2:5; Rom 8:3; Heb 2:14) who spoke God's words (John 8:28; 7:16)

Do we agree with this above statement?

Pegg

In the beginning existed the Word, and the Word existed with God, and the Word was a God.

Did you know that vast numbers of Jews spoke the Coptic language? It is claimed that about 40% of the population of the city of Alexandria, on the Egyptian coast, were Jews. It was in this country that Joseph and Mary sought refuge with their young child, Jesus (Mat. 2:13). You may be interested to know certain words in the the NT are coptic in origin. Acts 7:43 for instance!

One must define the "Word" itself, its source and purpose before coming to John 1:1.

yep i dont see an issue with this verse either. Jesus was the master worker, all things were created by him because he was the 'master worker' as proverbs 8 mentions. His power and ability to create came from God Almighty.

Thats what makes Jesus unique. He was the only living being who was 'directly' created by God Almighty. All other created things came into existence through Jesus. This is why he is called the 'only begotten son' because he was the only living creation made directly by God himself.

Jesus is God Almighty:

Jeremiah 17:10 (NKJV)
10 I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.

did you realise that when you see the word lord all in capitals, LORD, it indicates that the tetragrammaton is the word being translated in the original text. Im sure you know what the tetragrammaton is.

When you see the same word in lower case, 'Lord', it signifies Jesus.

Alexandrian Type Manuscripts 2nd‐6th centuries (Coptic)

The accuracy with which the text has been preserved (especially in the Alexandrian manuscripts), is well recognized: ‘The Alexandrian text is found in manuscripts produced by scribes trained in Alexandrian scribal practices, the best of its kind in Greco ‐ Roman times. Such scribes were schooled in producing wellcrafted accurate copies.

So then, who is Jer 17:10 referring to if not Jesus?

BINGO!

Jeremiah 17:10 (NKJV)
10 I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.

Revelation 2:18-23 (NKJV)
18 "And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, 'These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: 19 I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. 20 Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. 22 Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. 23 I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.
