You're not creating a valid translation! You're taking part of one verse in one "book" and building false doctrine on it. What you're claiming is at odds with the New Testament.

You're in love with your "Acts skippers" phrase, but it's total nonsense. Nobody is skipping the "book" of Acts because they disagree with your interpretation.
"Acts skippers" is predominant in Christendom.

The majority of them fight against obeying Acts 2:38 as the 3000 did at Pentecost like it is the Russians invading their cities.

It is easier to fight than switch?

Repentance forgives, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ remits.

Remittance is permanent, forgiveness is conditional.

Under The Law That Jesus lived under and preached, One did not get Forgiven unless they forgave others first.....in this present Age of Grace , all of your Sins are “ already” Forgiven if you are a Believer ( 1Cor15:1-4)......We forgive now because we WANT to, and not because we HAVE to....the Gratitude that a Believer has for having “ His” sins forgiven has a side- effect.....it makes you WANT you Forgive others, seeing how God forgave Wretches like us...

Again, no Jesus name via baptism, no remission of sins.

Must I quote this in reverse to prove it?...

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, ...

Or this?...

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and DO NOT GET baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,...

That makes Acts 2:38 irrelevant.

For Salvation , it “ IS” irrelevant....if people would continue to read Acts until the end instead of stopping at Chapter Two, they could see it for themselves.....Acts is a Book Of Transformation....In the early Chapters , one has to get baptized in order to receive the Holy Spirit.....then Paul came along and showed how people were “Speaking in Tongues” ( thereby Proving that they had the Holy Spirit) WITHOUT getting Baptized first.....all a person had to do was “ BELIEVE” ......The Salvation Program changed from Believing who Jesus * WAS* and then gettin water baptized to Simply Believing what Jesus * DID*.....(He Died for our Sins and rose from the Grave— 1 Cor15:1-4 )

By the END of Acts, they all come to agree that Paul was right, as they gave him, “ The Right Hand Of Fellowship” .....Paul was God's “ Chosen Vessel” to deliver this message to the Gentiles ....the “Body Of Christ” gets their Doctrine from Paul ....we are to “ Follow Paul as he follows Christ”....Peter went on to say later that Everything that Paul wrote in his letters was the Equal Of anything contained in Scripture.....

Acts skippers" is predominant in Christendom

What is really “ predominant” is starting to read Acts and then STOPPING at Acts 2.......Acts is a Transitional Book, and people stop reading it before they can see the “ Transition”.....The Transition From “ Who Jesus Was” ( the Messiah) to What Jesus DID! ( He Died for our sins and rose from the grave)

Read the ENTIRE Book Of Acts.....*Beyond* Acts 2:8.....See for yourself How it chronicles the Transition from being baptized to receive the Holy Spirit to Simply BELIEVING to get that Spirit

If by “ Repentance” one means , “ cleaning up ones Act” and does NOT include “ Turning to God as a Lost Sinner who puts their Faith in Jesus to Save them, he is one that will remain Lost

Many people today are “ repenting” their way to Hell....

Everybody has a part in salvation of a soul.

Everything necessary for your Salvation was accomplished at the Cross—- the Only part that the individual plays is to “ cash-in” on what Jesus already accomplished FOR you 2000 years ago....How does one “ Cash-In?” .....simple......Rest in Paul’s Gospel Of Grace ( 1Cor15:1-4 )....

They have this to read...

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ(Father, Son, Holy Ghost) for the remission of sins(because you are ALREADY SAVED), and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

If you were a listener to Peter as he preached his message and you did what he said , you would have obtained that Spirit .....later in Acts, even Peter —the man that promoted “ Repentance and Baptism” for getting the Holy Spirit—- realized ( with the help of Paul) That all one had to do was to BELIEVE.....

No, I am trying my best to show folks that have skipped and taught folks to skip Acts 2:38 that they do not have remission of sins and forbid remission of sins to their converts.

Luke 7:50......” Jesus said to the woman ‘ your *FAITH” in Me has “SAVED” You.....go in peace “

Wanna wind up the same way that woman did? One can show their Faith in Jesus in this Present Age Of Grace by simply Resting in Paul’s Gospel ( Given to Him by Jesus) —- Simply Believe that Jesus “Died for your Sins and Rose from the Grave”.....

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Obey it!

Of course! If you were a Jewish man that lived 2000 years ago and just happened to be in Peters audience that day ......otherwise, follow the most recent command of Jesus —- “ Follow Paul as he follows Christ” .....you “ Follow Paul” By Putting your Faith in the Gospel That Jesus revealed to him....it’s found in 1Cor15:1-4 .....Paul said that it is the Thing that God is going to ask you about on Judgement Day....A wise man would start being concerned about his Obedience—- the “ Obedience to the Gospel”.....

When I got rid of stuff and sought change prior to baptism,

This sounds like “ Turning over a New Leaf” ....That might make you more “moral” , but it is what God considers “ Filthy Rags” when it come to Salvation....it plays no part.....

Hell is gonna be chock full of “ moral” people.....if one chooses to go down the “ behavior improvement” road to find their Justification before a Holy God, they are gonna be very disappointed ....one must be “ PERFECT “ to obtain Eternal Life .....you can’t be “Perfect” while in a Body Of Flesh But you CAN have the Perfection Of Christ “ IMPUTED” to you if you REST in The Gospel Of Grace .....it’s the best deal in the Universe...Christ gets your sins and you get his Perfection.....but only if you Trust HIM .....
Are you Trusting Jesus Alone for your Salvation or are you Trusting in yourself and your Performance to get you Saved?

Never forget this—- the Hymn has it right ! It really * IS* “ Nothing But The Blood”.....Add to That at your own Risk....

Thank for clarifying but my belief is that once you have repented and asked forgiveness and accepted Jesus you are born again and your sins forgiven.

“ Repentance” is Mandatory for Salvation...A problem arises when we discover that the word “ Repentance” can take on three very different meanings.....Nobody in the Bible “ Repented” more than God ( 11 times, give or take!), so it does not exclusively mean to “ Repent Of *SINS*”.....

The word “ Repentance” comes from the Greek word “ metanoia” which means “ change your mind”....

Here is a Fact—- Believing the Gospel Found In 1Cor15:1-4 Saves ......That Gospel declares the Good News That Jesus Died for your Sins and rose from the grave......if one does “NOT” believe that and later “ changes his mind” ( repents) and actually Believes it and Trusts In it to Save him—— THAT man has done ALL of the “ Repenting” That he ever Need Do to get Saved.....Sorrow and regret for sin ( another type of Repentance) is a good thing and it will happen naturally AFTER one has become Saved by Trusting Jesus to Save Him....Don't confuse this “Sorrow and Regret” for Sin with God's “Elixir” for Sin—— The Elixir is Resting in the Gospel....” Resting in the Gospel” means that you don't ADD to it with your works, lest you “ Fall From Grace” .....a subject for another time....

That makes Acts 2:38 irrelevant.
Well I think not for I did repent, my sins were forgiven and I was baptised but it was the repenting that saved me and I was eventually led to be baptised.

It’s the Shed Blood of Jesus Plus Nothing other than your “ FAITH” in that Shed Blood That Saves Anybody...

“ Repent Of your Sins in order to be Saved” is Nowhere to be found in the KJV....Prove me Wrong and I will give you $1000.....
Well don't you think that one has to repent in order to have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. And it is by that repentance and turning to God that we are washed in the blood of the Lamb.

Amen! In Acts 2:38, "for the remission of sins" does not refer back to both clauses, "you all repent" and "each one of you be baptized," but refers only to the first. Peter is saying "repent unto the remission of your sins," the same as in Acts 3:19. The clause "each one of you be baptized" is parenthetical. This is exactly what Acts 3:19 teaches except that Peter omits the parenthesis.

We can also compare the fact that these Gentiles in Acts 10:45 received the gift of the Holy Spirit (compare with Acts 2:38 - the gift of the Holy Spirit) and this was BEFORE receiving water baptism. (Acts 10:47)

In Acts 10:43 we read ..whoever believes in Him receives remission of sins. Again, these Gentiles received the gift of the Holy Spirit - Acts 10:45 - when they believed on the Lord Jesus Christ - Acts 11:17 - (compare with Acts 16:31 - Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved) BEFORE water baptism - Acts 10:47. This is referred to as repentance unto life - Acts 11:18.

*So the only logical conclusion when properly harmonizing scripture with scripture is that faith in Jesus Christ "implied in genuine repentance" (rather than water baptism) brings the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Luke 24:47; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 5:31; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 15:8,9; 16:31; 26:18) *Perfect Harmony*

.
So you are saying that when Jesus had shewed himself alive after his passion and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God for forty days, that Jesus somehow goofed and needed to correct his mistake - whew!

Acts 1:3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
[4] And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

Let's see what they did...

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
[38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
[39] For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

An admission to everyone that Acts 2:38 is irrelevant.

The RCC has a big fish on the hook, here.

Read the ENTIRE Book Of Acts.....*Beyond* Acts 2:8.....See for yourself How it chronicles the Transition from being baptized to receive the Holy Spirit to Simply BELIEVING to get that Spirit
What day in the book of Acts did baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins officially "drop off" since it was first introduced at the day of Pentecost?
