Because it certainly isn’t happening this way:
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
“Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.” (1 Peter 2:11-12)
How are you bringing glory to God?

Yet Paul was not using the Hagar example against holy living. Hagar was used as an example of those who would return to circumcision and observation of days, months, times, and years (Galatians 4:10; Galatians 5:2).

...BELIEVE is the works a man MUST CONTINUE...or be cut off!
LABOR “deeds” works is completely different. LABOR is “DOING” works.
Helping others, lending aid, charity...IN Jesus’ Name.
Matt 16:[27] For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
Luke.23
[41] And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
WORK of CONTINUED BELIEF..A man shall RECEIVE SALVATION.
WORK of LABOR DEEDS...........A man shall RECEIVE A REWARD.
Two expressly different WORKS.
Two expressly different RECEIPTS.
Well here is the problem. Grace isn't a saviour. Jesus is. We must trust Jesus, which means listening to what he taught.
He taught us in John 15, that if we don't bear good fruit, we'd be cut off and thrown into the fire.
But its not impossible to bear good fruit if we abide in Jesus and let his Words remain in us.

Salvation is a future hoped for and a present experienced.
Satan was thrown out of heaven along with his angelic followers.
If it is possible to stumble on earth and be rejected, it is also possible to stumble in heaven.
So to say that salvation is about the foundation of ones link to Jesus is not wrong.
When Jesus says He will remember before the Father those who approve of Him, and deny those who
deny Him, this is present tense principles. It is clearly absurd to claim those who turn from Christ are
saved, because their relationship with Him is broken. There is no salvation without a living faith.
Just as there is no life if we do not breath air or pump blood around our bodies.
It sounds like sense to say Gods grace extends to the lost, but that is a form of universalism, with a
prize for the winners who at some point find the prize, whether they now have it or not.
God declares though if a righteous man goes back to evil, all his righteousness will be forgotten.
But if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable
things the wicked man does, will he live? None of the righteous things he has done will be remembered.
Because of the unfaithfulness he is guilty of and because of the sins he has committed, he will die.
Eze 18:24
God does not change, His approach is the same in Christ as in Israel. The difference is the spiritual nature
of expression as in the temple is no more, Jesus is the atoning sacrifice.
So if the term "temporary" salvation is a problem, then the essence of salvation being the communion with
Jesus is not understood. It is like saying one is still married after being divorced. Those delusions do exist,
but the reality is the other party rejects the divorced individual and in this case the divorced individual does
not even want to return.

First, I am not the only one who believes the way I do. There are other people who believe the Bible the same way I do because they are just reading the Bible plainly. Second, if a person were to read the Bible plainly for themselves they will believe the truth, as well. No Bible Highlighter is needed. But most today just believe Protestant lies (and they don’t like to think for themselves in reading and believing the Bible plainly). They exchanged the truth for a lie and they like it because it is a belief that caters to their own self and their sin. But if you need verses on repentance (seeking forgiveness with the Lord Jesus as a part of our salvation), see post #876 within this thread. Note: I am not really expecting you to read these verses and or to believe them. But I merely point to them again for the benefit of others who are seeking the truth.

A verse fits the idea they want to get across so they quote it. A whole series of verses are spoken because
they show that particular slant.
Jesus said to Nicodemus,
"You are Israel's teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things?"
John 3:10
Jesus was simply saying this is basic spiritual reality.
Jesus is talking about going beyond quoting statements that seem to fit ones theology.
The world is founded on doing the best for oneself at any expense.
Everyone who knows God knows this has to shift to be focused on love and Him.
Jesus simply says this shift is achieved by the Spirit.
Let me suggest some spiritual realities. We think emotionally expressed in words.
When Jesus appears we feel the glow, the sense of authority and love, but not know why or how.
When I was a teenager I could read the bible and it sounded authoritative, but in my heart I did not understand what it
was talking about, just the individual parts.
As we grow and meditate the parts start to become a whole and whole grows to encompass everything, like a web
inter-connected. It is so involved and complicated, and nuanced, it has to grow inside one.
Jesus described the Kingdom of heaven like a plant, flowing and being as one, yet being separate individuals.
We talk often in analogies because the inter-relationships can be shadowed but not reduced.
People talk for instance of eternal life as a present, like something you put on, on top of who you are.
They fail to see eternal life, is heavens walk, here on earth that continues with Jesus after we are transformed.
So walking away here on earth is walking away from heaven, after being in heaven.
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
Eph 2:6
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed
into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Cor 3:17-18
We can literally enter Gods presence and be listened to, as we will face to face on the new earth
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.
The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
James 5:16
It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift,
who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the
powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their
loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.
Heb 6:4-6
A harsh word about falling away, but in a sense this is abandoning Christ and all He stands for
and thinking that this rebellion which has never been innocent can find a way back.
I am not sure how many this actually covers because in my experience many are still confused
about what they actually have or what it is, and so their falling away maybe real freedom from
trying to make work something that was wrong and finally they come to Jesus for real.
I met one woman who expressed how she felt like she was converted out of methodism.
I 100% understand her meaning, because the emotional heart must be reached not just the
theological agreement, and a life of love be lit.
If I say I love you, it could be I like you reading this post, or in Christ I would give my life to
help you. And whether you care will depend on how you can measure emotionally the difference.
Some are so emotionally hidden the two statements are someone elses feeling, similar to someone
with autism who find it impossible to see other peoples feelings and only cope with their own.
When I was depressed giving my life was probably more a relief, but with a full heart, it would take
a lot of consideration to determine whether this was just a heroic sentiment or a real reaction.
When you know someone as a friend, how they work and care about things, giving up their life
is life altering, which is what Jesus did for us.

Protestantism has been taking quite a beating in this thread, with no less than 40 posts containing attacks by the OP.
It is not a denomination and therefore is not the second largest denomination in the world.
It is also largely the means by which we have access to the Bible at all.
To lump all the denominations that barely will suffer to still call themselves "Protestant" into one lump might be considered somewhat misrepresentative, at best.
With my own faith being distinctly Protestant (and numbering 22 million worldwide at present), I'm probably more offended by this display of religious bigotry than I should be.
Nevertheless, enough is enough. The cause of true Protestantism must be heard.
You are, of course, free to carry on with your baseless scandalizing of the principle that Christianity should be free from universal, systematic oppression of religious liberty, and thereby the indulgence of two classes of mankind—those who need to be made to feel they can be saved by their own merits, and those who are intent upon pursuing assurance of salvation while remaining in their sins.
Catering to these carnal desires is the secret of the papacy's wild success, and virtually none today feel the need to call it into question.
But to pigeonhole Protestantism as the bane of Christianity's soteriological existence is to go on further to strengthen the hands of the greater evil of Romanism.
And all of this is not even to mention the hypocrisy of championing the cause of so-called "righteousness" while trampling underfoot the 4th commandment of the law given at Sinai that points out sin.

If all we display is ANGER, whether a person believes it is righteous or not then we have let the devil rule our spirit, for God is LOVE.
Anger is easy to display but the fruit of the Spirit must be yielded unto. Only by being led of the Spirit can we know that we are the children of God !

My sure foundation on which I stand that will not slip nor slide.
The word is my peace in the deepest valley or pit for none are so deep that he is not deeper still.
It is my love that can make me see beyond the hate of others & see their hurt.
It is a well spring in my soul, manna from heaven, meat & fruit from the tree of life.
