Scripture is KNOWLEDGE.
The KNOWLEDGE in Scripture gives BOTH sides of a COIN.
Do this...Don’t Do that.

Of course individuals use Scriptural Quotes that APPLY to their own beliefs and standing.
Of course individuals DO NOT use Scriptural Quotes that which DO NOT APPLY to their own beliefs and standing.

Glory to God,
Taken
and the good of knowledge is what when one doesn't know the Man?

There are billions of people I do not know....what is your point?
If one had all knowledge yet didn't know Jesus (the Man) ...what good is it? The devil has more knowledge than any of us.....so what? In the end his demise is assured.

Well I KNOW this, without God we are all doomed. This world is DOOMED. Humans are evil and self destructive, until they know Jesus.

Knowledge is one thing.
Understanding the Knowledge is another thing.

The Devil has more power than men.
The Devil likely has more knowledge than men.

However, a man has Access to ALL the knowledge Necessary to form a Forever relationship WITH God and to form amicable relationships between and among men.

And “Godly Believing men” have an “indirect” means to “gain” Gods Understanding of His Knowledge...

And “Godly Converted men” have a “direct” means to “gain” Gods Understanding of His Knowledge...

The Devil “is NOT afforded, or given”...an “indirect” or “direct” means to “gain” Gods Understanding of His Knowledge.

Knowledge WITHOUT Understanding the Knowledge, is merely a BEGINNING of gaining Knowledge.

Understanding the Knowledge is the Highlight.

The majority of people, can SAY they “KNOW” Jesus, which translates to “Hearing ABOUT Him”, “Being INTRODUCED to Him”....but that is only a Beginning...
A whole array of thoughts and emotions stir...believing what one hears, wondering, doubting, believing some, but not all....

THAT ^ is a long way from “UNDERSTANDING” the “KNOWLEDGE”, according TO “HOW” Jesus understands the Knowledge (of God).

And the fact is:
The Lord God freely gives “His” knowledge necessary for ANY man to forever BE WITH God...

However:
Only the Lord God Himself gives individual men...Understanding OF “HIS” knowledge.

Glory to God,
Taken

“cognitive distortion” ... How they will search the Bible for evidence…picking out carefully …verses only to support their view…disregarding any other passages that contradict their belief. The topic was evidence or limited evidence …and how we support our perception with or without evidence.

... What are the verses (three or less) that you say is “the evidence” at the heart of what you strongly believe as the “Gods honest truth” Some might call them pet-verses highly favored as “a fact”; “the evidence”; for what is truth to us?
Only 3 verses?

Also, I think the counselor is confounding things that are separate AS IF what is subjectively important to a person is or ought to be objectively valued equally by by all. So, while I consider ethics objective, it is individual in application.

So, regarding the Bible, it is not that I don't value verses others might present, other verses are especially meaningful to me as an individual.

Most importantly, it is not what the Bible says that is the evidence. It is my lived experience of being sealed by the Holy Spirit, of interfacing with the supernatural that is my testimony and witness. We worship a living God and his word supports our relationship with him.

Hope this helps.
