Clearly you are the exception, correct?
Just accepting what the scholars say without question is a better way to go? You’ll soon find they don’t agree with each other

Sad and sorry excuse.
God will judge all we say, do, not do, or think for his records are perfect !
No excuses. Question asked. Question answered.

KJV-only folks cannot see the IDOL they have created. This is demonstrated by the question,
what is more important to you:
A. Force as many people as possible to read your preferred translation?
B. Bring people to Christ?

That KJV folks don't answer the question tells the story. What is your sad and sorry excuse for keeping people from Christ?

Am artistic rendition should not be the criterion for choosing the best translation. An accurate translation should be the most important factor. Period.

If I give someone a Bible, I would want them to have the most accurate rendition of the Bible. Don't confuse beautiful prose with accuracy!
In your expert opinion what is the most accurate rendition of the Bible?

The Voice does say she will have a miscarriage. Bible Gateway passage: Numbers 5:11-31 - The Voice
OK. I thought your point was about the immediate, not future state. The voice also says
This judgment ritual is a mixture of dust or ash and water to bring objectivity to the accusation of adultery on a wife. The result is either clearing her name or confirming the claim against her. The administration is reserved for the priest, and the results are final.

So, it is not about causing a miscarriage, not about dealing with a current pregnancy. Hence, the curse of the future. And you think this liberty is wrong, being grounded in KJV because ...?

You’re avoiding that it says it will cause a miscarriage. You said the Voice didn’t even indicate pregnancy.

Num 5:21 YLT- (then the priest hath caused the woman to swear with an oath of execration, and the priest hath said to the woman) -- Jehovah doth give thee for an execration, and for a curse, in the midst of thy people, in Jehovah's giving thy thigh to fall, and thy belly to swell. YLT. ///// The Voice 21 [here the priest should make the woman say the cursing-oath], “then may the Eternal One make your name a shunning reproach, an insult or a warning among the people, because you will have a miscarriage[a] and your belly will swell. Clearly I am only the Lord's handmaiden and must submit to his will or be found in rebellion.

Hey carry on. The balances are being brought forth to judge ALL men's words & works. Let's hope none are found wanting....or must I quote that ones place also so you know it's in the word?

I do not use any excuse nor do I keep folks from Christ.
I follow the Spirits direction when I share God's word.

A translation, any translation will not MAKE a person a believer.
That happens at the conviction of sins by the Holy Spirit and the drawing of God to the realization of the saviour Jesus. Then through grace by that person's faith or belief are they saved.

Folks seem to think God depends on us........ how foolish.

Yeah, what do scholars who have devoted their careers to Bible translation know? The "plain reading " is in your mind only. Guess whom I believe, you or qualified scholars?
I really don’t care who you believe.

You’re avoiding that it says it will cause a miscarriage.
I did not avoid it but asked what is wrong with it saying that?

To be honest, I thought your original question was about the immediate effect of taking the potion, not the future curse. Let me put it this way, If a woman who committed adultery is NOT pregnant, she cannot miscarry, correct?

Regarding the woman being cursed; the curse is not necessarily an instantaneous imposition. What is the curse? Not being able to have children. Miscarrying a pregnancy is one way a woman would be not able to have children. It is in this context that my question comes up, what is wrong with saying that the potion will cause a miscarriage?

This is part of what annoys me about talking to KJV-only folks. You truly think your translation is correct and others are wrong (as opposed to different ways of saying the same thing). The bias becomes so bad, not only can I not talk to you about Scripture, I tend to avoid KJV-only type people entirely in real life not on the internet. The closed-mindedness disrupts my peace. For instance, I know you deny being a KJV-only person, which is laughable in the face of writing 46-paragraphs in defense of your IDOL.

You obviously believe only what you believe and reject sound scholarship, That's an excellent example of a closed mind!

Again, what do scholars who have devoted their careers to Bible translation know? Certainly less than you, correct? The "plain reading " is in your mind only. Guess whom I believe, you or qualified scholars?

I've always thought there were NO stupid questions but you've proved that wrong !

Folks cannot force nor keep any from God. It is only by our own choices that we are what we are !
