can you explain the covering? What does it cover in us?
Mmm…I can try.
We are born into the family of believers by the down payment of the Spirit we are given and we soil ourselves a lot just as an earthly baby. as we begin to learn righteousness and the members of the body bear with us and labor over us and care for us, our feet get dirty and they wash our feet and cover us in a way that is similar to a believer covering an unbelieving spouse or similar to a covering in swaddling cloth and we struggle with our flesh until we are weaned from it by Gods working in us. Then step 2 is being led by the Spirit into the wilderness/desert for a time of the testing of our trust just as the Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness for the testing and as God tested Israel’s trust in the desert. God decides when we are ready for this and He leads us into it. Step 3 is entering the promised land, entering into walking in the Spirit rather than just being led by the Spirit.
So I thought the persons post about three steps was a pretty good description.
Its not all strictly linear.

So you are not talking about "covering" sin. Good.

Mmm…not so fast there.
We receive the down payment of the Spirit before our minds are renewed, before we understand anything really, and I am not going to be the one to say that the blood does not cover newborns amid all the soiling and confusions and rampant flesh that they can’t control. I will leave it to God to decide when one of His children is of age to punish or to begin being held more accountable.

What I'm referring to is that the blood of Jesus doesn't just "cover" our sins, He TAKES IT AWAY. We aren't discussing babies. I'll do as you do and leave that to God. LOL

My entire post of explanation was talking about babies so yeah, I was talking about babies. You might not have been but I was. :)
I don’t usually argue about which words anyone prefer I use but “take away” is fine, only they then soil themselves so…

Your # 2<>#3, is only the case if you are carnal and dont continue in God's Grace to perfection, down here.

Paul said..>"as many as be PERFECT".......... and he's talking about a born again believer.
Another one that "cuts out" progressive sanctification.

Another one that “cuts out” edification and has nothing to contribute but pipes up anyway.
I'm not wasting my time with you as you are a "angry" vicious kind of person.
Don't spoil my Sunday.
You rant and rave--that is your de-edification

Psa 37:7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!
Psa 37:8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.

Pro 14:7 Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge.

Pro 14:16 One who is wise is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is reckless and careless.
Pro 14:17 A man of quick temper acts foolishly, and a man of evil devices is hated.

Pro 16:32 Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.

Proverbs 19:11
Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.
Pro 22:24 Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man,
Pro 22:25 lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.

Pro 27:4 Wrath is cruel, anger is overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?

Ecc 7:9 Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the heart of fools.

Mat 5:22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.

Colossians 3:8
But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.

Enjoy your day of rest, and don't spoil mine, there's nothing you can offer but ranting and raving and jealousy--from reading your posts.

Apparently you are wasting your time with me if you’re answering me and I only get “angry“ at vicious men who like to hold coats.

I will rant and rave more, even to the point of lunacy, when I see you posting only to tear down a man and not to contribute to a thread.

Pro 14:7 Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge.
Is that what you fancy you have done?
You cannot both have left the presence of a fool AND be speaking with him. You, necessarily, must be doing only one of these at any given time.

I get angry when a vicious mob goes after a brother or when I see one little mobster begin in a thread by not contributing but only tearing down , as happened here. And it says whoever is angry with a brother is subject to judgement. I accept that God may judge me for getting angry at abuse.
But the passage goes on to further say if you say, Fool! You will be in danger of the fire of hell.

Avoid the company and conversation of ungodly men, when they break forth into foolish or wicked discourses, lest thou either be infected by them, or seem to approve of them.

Never associate with a vain, empty fellow, when thou perceivest he can neither convey nor receive instruction.

Wise words--didn't know it was YOUR OP--so I'll make myself scarce.

Hello everybody,
there have been continual reports of all the infighting.

Romans 12:18

"If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all." Well, it doesn't seem possible here. All this mudslinging on both parts has gotten out of control. People are getting banned, warned and whole threads get locked because of this. Yeah, it can be tough to NOT return in kind but, for the sake of peace among all, I plead with you to examine yourselves BEFORE replying, and if it cannot be done in a mature manner, this thread too will be shut down. This is a verbal warning, Rita is over stressed right now and asked if one of us could deal with this latest report.
Please, try to be a doer...

1 John 4:19-21

"We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother."

John 13:34

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another".

Hebrews 12:14

"Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord."

Proverbs 19:11

"Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense."

Proverbs 17:14

"The beginning of strife is like letting out water, so quit before the quarrel breaks out."

1 Peter 5:3-5

"Not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

I fully concur @Nancy --infighting not only on this thread [mostly] but on other threads as well.

I have posted scriptures on how to restore a erring brother, and here I INCLUDE myself, since I don't know it all, and in need of correction, always.

Thank you Johan for understanding. All the bickering has gotten tiring for sure. It becomes really hard to correct those we have grown close to but, it has to be done or it becomes a free for all brawl.
I've no problem with those who counter with scripture in a loving manner but if it is not received, best to leave it behind IMHO.
God be with you brother.

Okay, here’s what I’m going to do, since I’m the problem. (I really can see that I’m the problem. I’m not blind to that fact.) I’m the one who attacks back so firmly at the group who follow Episkopos around and beat the living daylights out of him, over and over again, and ruin his threads, so I’m fully aware this correction is a nice and diplomatic way of appealing to me, and I appreciate that gentleness.

And now, when I see Johann enter another thread, not epis this time, and make a remark in no way related to the topic, I fear what comes next - Another person he can follow around and harass and beat. So I try to nip it in the bud. And I’ve had enough of it. And I am not able to stop doing that. I’m not able because I’m not willing to watch it go on and allow it and ignore it any longer. Ive prayed for over a year about it. I’ve tried to talk myself into letting them beat him and just ignoring it, and even knowing epis reward will be great, it didn’t work and I couldn’t ignore it. And I’ve tried humor but it didn’t work and just made them meaner and angrier and more vengeful. And two of the men have even followed him from different sites, for over ten years now, and I can’t watch it any more.

Ive tried to examine and keep my heart and I’ve tried to deal with it without anger, which I was able to do for quite a while. But now I have anger and God can’t, or won’t, take away my anger and I’m convinced it’s because it is righteous anger that refuses to see a man beat without speaking or attempting to stop it. I’m square with God that it’s not hateful and murderous anger. He and I have examined that to death, since it’s my biggest worry over my heart. :)

But even if I am right about that, it doesn’t solve the issue of me being a problem to this forum. If I can’t ignore the beatings and peacefully accept them, I’m the problem. And since I’m not willing to go back to ignoring the beatings, not even the passive aggressive ones, and am filly convinced to do so would be iniquity, there’s no resolution. And anything I have to say is not important anyway, but what Epi has from God is very important and precious to all of us.

So, Im leaving. And ive sat here crying and thinking very hard and making very sure this is the only thing I can do. If I wasn’t the problem, I might think of a way to proceed but since I AM the problem and since I’m out of things to try, it’s the only way.

John, brother, looking forward to your next video on YouTube. And hoping for another book! The first one is the hardest, so don’t dread it. :)

No need to "follow" me around to see where or to whom I comment or post--keep your anger issues under control.

Jen, this is NOT all about you! You know the ones who are involved, and they too have been warned and received warning points. Please, do not leave! I know you are very protective of Epi, and I do love him too it's just all the back and forth will ALL, not at all "just" you sister?!
Please think hard before leaving here...you've been here a long time and I for one, would miss you. I wish I could control what others think and post but, that is of course impossible.
I love you sis!

the thread is about sanctification. being sanctified is a process of being made Holy . a post i seen on Facebook reads none of us has fully graduated from the altar . there has always been differences of opinions to be sanctified is set apart . there aint none so Holy they dont have room for improvement . Justification is being declared righteous / not guilty / just as if we had never sinned
