What I'm understanding from your replies on this topic, is that you believe that some things like "The Passion", movie, where Jesus is crucified, is too graphic for little children to watch. I agree, It is. As a former Sunday School teacher and a Bible in Schools teacher, I would personally censor it where children are concerned. I would also censor The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe because it comes across too new agie...There are plenty of other avenues where children are exposed to things that they should not be...but they are...you only need to look at the television or the video games they play.

Blessings!!!

So you are trying to say that a Child's faith is pure even though they witnessed Christ being crucified like in the passion of the Christ movie.. the bible and in other modern day christian depictions of Jesus on the cross. How would it be pure if they only see the blood as a sacrifice? Especially a young impressionable mind? Remember...some times Jesus is never there when we need him to be..

I would never let a child under 13 watch the movie.

I'm a Christian because I was called by God - in spite of my attempts to run away from what I was called for, he made it work anyway. Honestly, being a Christian involves a very personal and intense experience. My own "proofs" for God haven't come about because of things I've read, talked about, or logically discerned. My greatest moments with God have involved him speaking through dreams, visions, and circumstances that I love to share all day, but at the end of the day they are my experiences. I didn't find God by following a set of rules or a path, he pretty much found me instead and things all around cry out to his glory, if we just listen.

I Corinthians 2:14 ESV
The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

The passage goes on to say, we have the mind of Jesus. That's an intense relationship, and one you just have to experience.

Because no one else was strong enough to take me away from the devil.

Because no one else loved me enough to die for me, that is say, to purchase me with His own blood.

He has delivered us [me] from the power of darkness and conveyed us [me] into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

I pray that you may know the depths of His love for you as well as for this lost and dying world.

Bless you, JLB

I'm a Christian becuase I love Jesus...I try my best to do what He would want me to....mainly to Love people and myself to treat them with Love, respect and understanding. Jesus loved and healed people. If you have prefect Love full and complete as Jesus did you would never sin..in any way becuase any sin hurts us all, in some way. Although, living on this earth for us humans...I belive it is impossiable for us to live a perfect sinless life...but it is what we should strive for...to be like Jesus.
This is why He died for us..to redeem us and bring us back to Himself...and to show us how much He loves us.

Childern tend to belive what adults tell them...doesnt matter what it is....when they become adults they tend to begin to think about what they were tuaght and hopefully question it.......God gave us minds to think with.

Well you see I was looking up the word "blood" in my bible pdf and it is interesting what I keep reading.. I would advise everyone to go look it up. Its really interesting to find out what they are talking about. Every time I do a search for this ..what do you know.. Sounds like blood sacrifice. I will keep reading this book however since I am interested in finding out about our dear lord.

belief includes knowledge, intuition, and experience. It is not simply the facts we know about God.

I thought this passage was interesting

Psalms 9:12

When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them :
he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.

I'm not sure if my post is being replied to.. It seems like it is being blocked somehow.. Is anyone there??

THE REASON WHY

The most important reason why
you should believe in Jesus is
that you do gain salvation by,
The Son the faith. Know full well this!

One reason is because ...

Amen!

I personally think that it is very dis respectful for anyone to think they have the right to imitate Jesus in a movie. If you get caught on a native American (Indian) holy ground you better be ready for war. Because it is sacred to them, trees ,rocks etc. and yet no one considers what God thinks about the movie. There are many things we all have to learn, no need to be condemned just to pray and ask what God thinks.

Even if a person is born in the world they sooner or later have first thoughts that there must be a god. The world over believes in different gods. 1,000s of them. There is a difference concerning Jesus though. He was a God man. Others that you may hear about are just a prophet, or perhaps a stone, wood, clay etc. god.

Jesus was God who came by the Holy Spirit into a woman. That was for one basic purpose. That would be to take our punishment for sin. I believe you heard this many times but you are trying to figure it out. Have you ever heard of people dying and coming back again? My mother died in the surgery room, and she went to heaven but only to the gate. She met Jesus there in the form of great love and light. She saw joyful people there and many flowers. These same things others who went also saw. She was sent back to continue to be with her family.

In future time as I was visiting her, she and I prayed and there were some things she hadn't repented of that were really not good things, but she just didn't think of them before. She was blessed to that prayer. One good reason for being sent back.

It will do no good to look at peoples lives to come to the truth, unless you can find some good examples of people living right. I have known many people who prayed God reveal yourself to me I will go in the direction of truth if you will show me. I had that experience
sitting in as bass player for a heavy metal band. right in the room there with the band , just before jamming and getting high, Jesus touched me and the other 2 lead players said we will come to Jesus to. We had a supernatural experience right there. I believe it was through somebodies prayers for that area or us one.

We were real bad boys and there is no way we would have got saved on our own. The whole band came out of that living room as converts. How come-----all mercy.

Now before you start to say that I am a sinner
You have mentioned it, are you?
you should realize that organized religion has killed more people then any other groups in the world!
Or the opposite in fact. Satlinism and Nazism killed more last century than all killing attributed to religion had done in the entire history before that.
You should also realize that some people still, till this day view Jesus Christ as the devil himself.
So I see.
But I think you might be close to faith in Christ. Its the best thing that ever happened to me and I thought a bit like you once.

If Christianity had nothing to do with loving God and neighbor I would have nothing to do with it

The problem for many aspen2 is that people dont love God, only their neighbour despite God and according to what they see as loving their neighbour.
One of the best books of the Bible to see this is Judges. In Judges the people had no King and thus they did as they saw fit. What they saw fit was often detestable to God. So they had what loked like religion, the levite priests and the temple stuff, but their worship was not according to God.

Stalinism has actually saved more lives then you think. Black people would be lynched all the time in America if it wasn't for stalin. Thank god for stalin. Remember it was hitler that broke his pact with stalin..In fact german christian Protestant's started a huge battle against the Cathlic church which they still fight till this day.

Well besides the obvious and explainable things like maybe god is there sometimes.. or he just magically appeared the other day and told me something..also besides looking at the negative in people....tell me why be a christian? Now before you start to say that I am a sinner and this and that.. you should realize that organized religion has killed more people then any other groups in the world! You should also realize that some people still, till this day view Jesus Christ as the devil himself. I still have some apprehensions about kids being force fed some of the teachings...this is because of the bloody aspect of Christ's crucifixion. Tell me, why believe in Christ?

Interesting thread . . . . so much conflict over it :p

Forget about all the religions out there preaching their message. The Bible is what you should be looking at. And keep in mind, that the Bible can say just about anything you want it to say, as long as you make it. You need to let the Bible speak for itself.

Why follow Jesus? Well, let me give you a short overview of Jesus according to Scripture . . . .
Jesus was the Self-existent one of eternity. He created all things. When man sinned, he would come to earth to redeem man, clothing himself in flesh. The Almighty God took on a body of flesh to save you and me. He would be crucified, one of the most painful, shameful, and lingering deaths, only to rise from the dead three days later. He would leave his disciples with the command to pass on his gospel to the whole world and that he would return one day to end everything once and for all.
You might think of the crucifixion as ugly, and yes it was, but I think even you will feel the power of it, when you realise that Jesus DIDN'T have to go, but he did it for you and me. That someone would give the gift of eternal life for free to those who hated him really is stupendous.

Mat 26:52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
Mat 26:53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

Secondly, Jesus declared something that NO OTHER person has ever declared: THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY. HIMSELF.

Joh_14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

It will be up to you to decide whether you want to follow or not. As with all choices, there are consequences for whichever you choose. There is no middle ground. All I can really say, is you will never know if you never go. And if it really is true, then I wouldn't wanna be on the wrong side of Jesus.

1Co 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
1Co 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

I don't know the bible seems like its a book of sacrifice and blood offerings including Jesus before the resurrection..I have seen wondrous things that I thought were god..to then have god not be there the next day for me...I still find peace in meditation however, Either way I am still spiritual.
