Psalms 47Many times with special music , we respond with clapping Who is getting the applause? Man or woman because they did a good job, or should the glory go to God?
Clapping was never done in the Temple. Amen shows agreement and honors the Lord, not the person singing.
That was not done in the Temple, though.that was not done in the Temple, though.Psalms 47
Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples!
Shout to God with the voice of triumph!
2 For the Lord Most High is awesome;
He is a great King over all the earth.
This psalms was made into a song we used to sing at church. And, yes, we clapped our hands.
Where did they sing all of King David's songs? That was not done in the Temple, though.
Some were sang in procession, some sung in the church. singing is fine but there was no clapping in the Temple.Where did they sing all of King David's songs?
Dance that jig of praise to the glorious LORD .Psalms 47
Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples!
Shout to God with the voice of triumph!

Only if the singers are yoked up with the ungodly . THEN they ought not even be allowed to play in the churchIt's a toss-up for me. Who should be pleased more God or man?
When the ungodly sing and the churches rejoice , THEN i have a serious problem .Some were sang in procession, some sung in the church. singing is fine but there was no clapping in the Temple.
When we sing the focus should have been on GOD , not us . That is a serious problem i am also seeing .Some were sang in procession, some sung in the church. singing is fine but there was no clapping in the Temple.
Follow where the Holy Spirit leads .Psalms 47
Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples!
Shout to God with the voice of triumph!

Our 'doing' is centre stage. We are addicted to ourselves. Could that be the problem? Many times with special music , we respond with clapping Who is getting the applause? Man or woman because they did a good job, or should the glory go to God?

Then where did David get the idea? I bet there was. Some were sang in procession, some sung in the church. singing is fine but there was no clapping in the Temple.
There very likely was. Then where did David get the idea? I bet there was.
These are instruments of praise--there is no record of clapping in the Temple--in processions, but not in the Temple.Psalm 150
Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
No--You make a post about thatI SAY MAKE A POST ABOUT THAT .
Well,we will sing praises to God when in Heaven so,I doubt God would be disappointed when we sing and clap and dance while praising him in his house of worship. These are instruments of praise--there is no record of clapping in the Temple--in processions, but not in the Temple.
and as for being stoic. When we clap for special music, who are we clapping for? The person, or the Lord? This is the problem. We are supposed to be uplifting Christ, not the singer.
