I used to say that if the Republicans ever actually did something about abortion on demand, I would finally have some criteria for voting and, then, when it miraculously happened...

It was scary Trump who did that something.

Relinquishing the control of the issue to the states was the best we could do, I suppose.

We are being given just enough by both the Democrats and Republicans to vote for them, but the powers that are taking over are making money as we see with Bill and Hillary, and the socialism of Obama with big government giving you everything till they have you under their control. Trump has money and is against socialism but likes things his way and gets rid of good managers that dont do it his way, not good.

I can see you have the right attitude about politics, at least, about the dangers of aligning with parties. That's a refreshing change. I confess I don't pray enough for our leaders. It's hard to sympathize with them when their bungling is so magnified by the press. But I suppose we have to look at them like any other sinner, through the eyes of Jesus, i.e. "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." We tend to view leaders as excluded from that club.

I was a Navy brat so I was taught to respect the Commander-In-Chief without question, at least, outside my own head.

It's been demonstrated that you don't differentiate between disagreement and character attack. You're making people miserable to the point that they want to find another place to discuss their faith. Yet you deny and deflect at your own risk. Appeals to civil discourse fall on completely deaf ears with you. Now, people are telling each other to put you on their ignore list. It's hard to watch a person do themself in the way you are. We're going through some growing pains, I think, but we have a pretty good thing going here. I hate to see you miss out on it, but I've seen this story play out so many times. Won't you reconsider your approach to discussion?

There is a right way and a wrong way. Yours is the wrong way. You don't have to denigrate people when you disagree with them.

Also, the older I get the less I want to debate with people. I want to fellowship with people on a forum more and more, not argue with them endlessly.

Very true, and people wonder why I dont answer sometimes. We need to come here to help each other, edify the saints, study what God has in His scripture, and lift each other up with fellowship and love. Lot to ask for I quess...

There must be lots of folks here over the line because I see stuff like this all across the board and worse because they are speaking directly to someone calling them names.

That's foolishness and is what people do to shut down dissent to minimize anyone disagreeing with them.

I think you've actually done this a few times in our discussions about the Saturday sabbath because you got your feelings hurt that I kept the discussion going. Maybe that's the thing to do is to avoid squishy people knowing their feelings will easily get hurt if people don't agree with them.
